I'm not particularly a fan of "Home" or Phillip Phillips, but as a fan of the show I'm happy Idol is having some decent success with one of its recent winners. Kudos

Haha no.. Maroon has it! Selling more, almost the same on radio, I mean: 105M for P!nk, 86M for Maroon 5, plus, Maroon 5 has Streaming advantage, like 700,000 this week if I'm not mistaken and P!nk has 400,000 there

Yes I remember HITS predicted they can do 500k+ so we shouldnt count them out their last album showed very great longevity and it was one of the top sellers of they year stateside behind 21 I think! It shows they're really well loved, their first single this era even went #1 on iTunes
Phillip sings Home well but it's pretty good to start with (obviously not everybody will like it but the consensus is that it's significantly better the average AI victory song). If only Idol had thought of the "let's give the winner a real song instead some sappy ballad about being proud your dreams came true" strategy a few years sooner...
Anyway, Home's longevity is impressive but it's still just one song. Its success has opened a window of opportunity, but the next single needs to be chosen wisely...they don't want to squander Phillip's momentum on a lifeless follow-up. Once Home has its run, people/radio might be lining up for another song from him but if that song flops then they won't be lining up for the song after that. And once an Idol's momentum is gone it is pretty hard for them to get it back.

HitsDailyDouble predicts a lot of stuff that never actually happens
They're predictions are just like the ATRL polls about albums months before they're even in stores.
They also thought that Katy would sell 500k in the first week also
The only true and credible Hits projections are the ones the day after the albums are released. Anything else is pure predictions with no reason or basis.
