the only huge massive hit was "Beautiful" which peaked at #2. I just don't think Christina is a singles artist anymore.

You can't use the charts to determine what was big at the time. Dirrty, Ain't No Other Man and Candyman at least all made an impact.
It's just like now, look at the impact The Motto has had, but it only charted at #14. And you'll probably get kids going to us in the future "The Motto had no cultural impact, it only charted at #14 hahahaha such a flop".
The chart at that time was becoming mainly an airplay chart back then, which meant the songs that got to #1 usually had to be pop/rhythmic/urban crossover hits (stuff like Yeah!, Hollaback Girl, Lose Yourself, etc.).
