I was really looking forward to
Passengers but it looks like it's an all-around flop. What a shame—I love Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt, I was hoping it would be a decent movie. Thank God Adele wasn't associated with it. She truly is the queen of avoiding flops.
As for "Lay Me Down," it's my least favorite from
25 and I've never really been able to pinpoint why, but I think midnightdawn summed it up best. She really doesn't tell a story with "Lay Me Down" in the way she does with most of her other songs. Don't get me wrong, though—I like "Lay Me Down" just fine. But it's weaker than the rest, and to be honest, I question how involved Adele was in the songwriting process, because whenever she talks about it, she says that Tobias wrote it
for her rather than with her. It's a beautiful song, but it's not as good as the rest of the album (and the other two bonus tracks are incredible, which also makes "Lay Me Down" stick out like a sore thumb).
