We need to be discussing this when we're moving forward with policy proposals. What happened with this incident should NOT have happened. A man with a history of abuse, emotional instability, and being on the FBI's watch list should not have been able to easily and legally purchase a gun, let alone an automatic one. This needs to be discussed because it's an important issue. If we leave this issue alone then those deaths happened for nothing. WE need to learn from history and use it moving forward in order to try to approach change.

Maybe politicizing was the wrong word for it.I didn't mean to suggest that we shouldn't be discussing this event and studying it consequences and seeing how to improve this. I was more speaking of the argumentative divisive nature of this event. I don't find them too productive as both sides (so far) pretty much been on it already.

The killer passed 3 different background checks to get the weapons. And just talking to the FBI is not enough to not be able to buy a weapon, especially if he wasn't charged with anything and cleared. I mean, Hillary is also under FBI investigation and she's running for president.

No one period needs to own these types of weapons. I can see a case made for hand guns and hunting rifles (maybe) but SMGs? No ****ing way. Its getting beyond ridiculous. I'm so tired of hearing about constitutional right. So much of the constitution has been amended to denounce slavery, change the 3/4th rules, allow women the right to vote, allow everyone to vote, etc. but this ONE thing we can't amend. At this point it does need to be politicized.
