Asides from Luke Bryan, and maybe Eric Church nobody else had a bigger year than Carrie. Little Big Town may be close but not exactly. I'm just pissed off that they snub her.

Yearly lists are great and all but 10yrs from now, who is going to remember where she ranked.
I can't tell you where Dolly, Reba, or Loretta ranked but I sure can tell you what they have done for country music, Carrie will be remembered for more than a ranking on some list

2x platinum is pretty, pretty good, but you're also comparing it to some old songs and using exceptions. I could say Single Ladies, WMYB, WDKY, WAY, CMM, STIUTK, RITD, IGF, BBP, PF, JD, HSS, LS, NYN, IIDY, songs that just sold that amount due to pop success. Not comparable.

Singles sell more than albums, sis.  I bet when you combine records, Pop still outsells Country.

Tell me when a country song can hit 7xPlatinum
Carrie has only 2 (becoming 3) 2xPlatinum hit. But look at Taylor Swift. All of her crossover songs sell more than that.
If you look at the WHOLE scene, you will realize that country sales is stable but not as big as pop sales. You will never find a 3xPlatinum country song if it doesn't crossover successful

Evan Shania managed to sell that much is because of her crossover hits and multi version of her albums for both pop and country audiences.

^ I think only one, Dirt Road Anthem. I don't think it crossed over, but then again, it had a remix and several big profile performances.

The rap remix with Luda really boosted up the sales. If it'snot because of the remix, that song couldn't even reach the top 10.
