I actually bought all TS1 and TS2 base games and expansion packs because they felt like a labor of love by a dedicated team.

Then I bought TS3 base game and realized it wouldn't be the same and noticed that they were releasing the exact same expansion packs so I didn't buy them! Still played them though and enjoyed it!

When has sims been able to buy clothing? I don't get that part. They just go to the dresser and it goes to CAS.

In TS2. I enjoyed both tbh. I liked the idea of going to a store and shopping/trying on clothes and etc. I also enjoyed being able to go back into CAS and have my sims wear new content easily. It would've been nice in TS3 with the open world, but now since its closed again, I'm glad they didn't include it.

Yeah.
But now there's a difference. Public Space are like things that are always loaded, like streets, parks and playgrounds within the neighborhood. Community Lots are different, those still editable.

If I'm not mistaken, in sims 2 you could buy clothing items.

It'd be terrible if they did but.. I'd honestly probably start enjoying The Sims again. Cheating had really ruined several aspects of the game for me.

What is this mess? A complete tragedy, y'all ain't even overreacting. To think I was gonna buy this.

Sims can't sit on everything like they said last year either. They claimed they could sit on counters, arm rests, tables. the floor, beds and etc. They lied. Its one thing to take something out all together and its another to confirm and then announce it is out 2 months before launch.
