I start Eastern Michigan University in the Fall (I was offered a free 4 year full-ride there, so I really couldn't pass it up) to study in Interior Design and Marketing. Y'all will see me in your local Target magazines soon enough.
And Matty, I know it's pretty messed up to think lightly of a bad grade, but my GPA is high so it won't suffer that much. Plus I have senioritis so I'm just happy to be done with this high-school.

Do you feel like broadening your musical horizon but don't know where to start?
ATRL's Mixtape Magic is the solution for your problem!
Mixtapes have been around for almost 50 years and even managed to survive in today's digital age. Why? The answer is simple: it is fun and interesting to compile music for someone else and share your taste; for the recipient, it's a great surprise to see what the other person picked for them and in general, it's just a great way of getting to know someone and bringing people closer together. Sounds exactly like something ATRL would love, right?
This event aims to help members discover music they haven't heard before, to spark new discussions as well as strengthening the ATRL community; who knows, you could not only find a new favorite artist, but also make new friends!
1] Sign up. 2] Wait to receive your assigned partner. 3] Compile your mixtape - a list of 12-14 songs you think your partner might like.
Use your partner's profile to find out who they stan for, what their preferred genres are, and what songs they already love.
Other places you could check are their blogs, posts or personal countdown/Last.FM if they have one. Remember, the goal is to show them something that, in the best case, they haven't heard,
so a certain degree of 'research' would be nice.
After I have received everyone's submissions, I will forward them to the recipients and the listening experience can begin. I will not immediately reveal who everyone was paired with, because I think it would be great to have y'all guess who your mixtape creator was. I would also love if you could post a review of your mixtape or just say something about how you liked it in this thread, if you went to further check out an artist etc.
Be diverse. Choose a variety of songs to make your mixtape enjoyable for the listener.
Be creative. Sure, an online mixtape is not the same as recording a real tape, but you can still add formatting, cover art etc.
Be elaborate. Write a sentence or two for each song, what you love about it or why you chose it.
Be selfish. Keep in mind that you're making this mixtape for someone else and consider their taste, what they dislike and what they know already.
Be repetitive. Stick to one song per artist, and don't be scared to use music from older decades or non-mainstream genres.
Be generic. The personal note is what makes mixtapes so special, so don't just post a list of song titles.
While letting your creativity run wild, don't forget that this is ATRL and the general rules still apply. That means:
NO FILESHARING
Your tape is supposed to be a list of songs, not a list of links where you can download those songs.
What you can do for better access to the songs on your tracklist is add Youtube links.
Spotify is also an option, but remember, it is not available in every country.
NO WARNABLE COMMENTS
This is not an opportunity to attack other members and their taste. If you don't like the music you received,
feel free to say so, but do it in an objective and diplomatic way.
No flamebait, trolling, insults towards artists, other users and/or their taste etc.
NO NEGATIVITY
I want this event to be enjoyable and fun. Be open for the suggestions you'll receive,
and try not to be biased when you listen to them. People are putting effort into this so give their idea a chance.
Besides, the interesting thing about mixtapes is that you could end up changing your opinion about an artist because of one single song.
For now, there are 20 spots available. I might expand the list, depending on how manageable this turns out to be.
However, if you don't get a spot, don't despair - if this event proves to be successful, there will certainly be another edition.
Sign-ups will close after five days or as soon as the list is full.
You will then have about three weeks of time to compile your mixtape;
it can be more or less, depending on how much time you actually need.
If anything is unclear or you have any questions, feel free to post here in the thread at any time.
I will answer asap and add the information to the OP so that everyone can see it.
That's it for now, you can start signing up and share your opinions/hopes/expectations in this thread!
I'm looking forward to hosting this, and I hope you all

'Easter egg hunt' is a game during which decorated eggs, real hard-boiled ones or artificial, are hidden in various places for participating players to find. The game may be played both indoors and outdoors. When the hunt is over, prizes may be given out for various achievements.
RULES:
I have edited a numerous amount of my posts around ATRL with pictures of Easter eggs put into place. These posts can be found in any section of ATRL (videos, charts, blogs, etc). I will give hints each day/hour (depending on how fast people find the eggs) to where you can find these posts.
There will be a total of 2 hints per each time I post them. The first hint will be tricky and make the egg I've hidden hard to find, while the second one will be relatively easy to find. If you find the post to the harder hint, you get 2 points. If you find the post to the easier hint, you get 1 point. If you find both the harder hint and the easier hint before your opponents, you get 1 bonus point. The first person to reach 15 points wins the game. I don't think it's even possible to cheat in this game, but if it is, please don't!
Sign-ups will close on April 12th, 2014.
The event will begin on April 13th, 2014
(exactly one week before Easter). I can
change the date if anybody wants me
to, though.
Welcome ATRL to the Fall Rush Week! Every year ATRL host two Rush Weeks, one for the Fall and one for the Spring. During ATRL Rush Week, new members, old members, or those finally want to join one of the many amazing Sororities or Fraternities that are on ATRL, are able to pledge for acceptance into the Sorority or Fraternity of their choice! ATRL has several wonderful houses, all dealing with different things, there is a place for every one!
So sign on up, and get you ATRL Spirit in gear and get ready for a crazy week of hi-jinks and crazy pledges running around!
What exactly is a Sorority or Fraternity? They are established house around ATRL led by one or a group of members that share the same interest as each other! Houses are either set up with a blog, a private blog, an open lounge thread, or a private tinychat.
The point of the houses is for members to feel part of a group, and get together with people that share the same interest, such as artist, music taste, movies, artistic taste, an interest in school, or just a house set up for fun and parties!
The whole point of Rush Week is for new members that are uncomfortable or not feeling welcome to ATRL, they can join in a group with people of that share the same interest! Its always hard to break out of your shell, and Rush Week helps new members get involved!
In order to join a House, you must first be a pledge. As a pledge you are to make yourself noticed by the leader, and depending on the leader you may have to go through a hazing, or a list of task set up by your leader.
As a pledge you are to meet with the other members of the house and get to know them, and also get to know your fellow pledges.
The Leader of the house, an important role to fill. Running a House is not an easy task. You are responsible for keeping your House active and alive, as well as making it promising for new members that may want to join. Keep your house active and fun, and make sure it doesn't run dry. Treat it like your own special place and group that you started!
Any member that wants to open a house, must have fill out an application below and must have it be approved by a mod.
As a leader you are also responsible to keep track of who is pledging for your House, and make sure that none of them go without notice!
Hazing is a very important part of Rush Week, but like real life they can go over board
A House is NOT required to haze their pledges
A leader CANNOT ask for any risque, private, or dirty photographs from the pledge
A leader CANNOT force the pledge to submit any private information that they do not wish to give out.
No task that will get the pledge a permant ban or a month long ban
Each House must have 10 members at the minimum
A House does not have to accept pledges every Rush Week
The leader must at least accept 5 members at the least
No House may exceed over 30 members.
If you wish to take down your house, or the leader has become inactive contact a Mod

Is there a member on ATRL you have a thing for? Someone you just admire from afar? In honor of Valentine's Day, I thought it'd be a fun and really cute idea to have an event where ATRL could woo and praise the potential object of their affection in secret. Let's spread a little love and positivity across ATRL by participating in Secret Admirer, an event where, if you want, you can target a serious interest or just have some anonymous fun with a friend. It's all up to you. The general plan is to have this span over a week, ending with the unveils on or around Valentines Day. Therefore, by the time you discover your Secret Admirer, you'd essentially already have your ATRL Valentine ready to go.
RUNDOWN AND GUIDELINES:
You must PM me your person of interest.
Once notified, your person of interest will receive a PM from yours truly indicating they have been targeted.
In case of privacy settings preventing me from doing so, the secret admirer's target will be announced in thread.
Please DO NOT reveal your target.
Once matches are made, courting begins. PM me your gifts, hints, etc. and they will be anonymously posted for your victim.
COURTING AND HINTS (TO BE REGULARLY UPDATED):
Short poems and haikus. (Rose's are red, violet's are blue)
Graphics. e-Valentine cards, gifs, avatars, collages, etc.
Customized mixtapes.
Think outside the box. And don't forget to have fun!
