Apparently it's not automatic and only archives when you close and open the game (which caused my first album to stop selling 4 months early when it would have been 3xP). So untick the archive thing, and then when you get to the start of the next in-game year, go to settings, tick it and update to archive the game. then untick it again (and update i assume) to stop the mid-year archiving if u close midyear.
