That's honestly the music industry...or really any form of entertainment industry anywhere. You're a product and people are investing a lot of money into you, so they're going to try their best to get a return on their investment. It's harsh, but I think many people going into the music industry, K-Pop especially, know that it'll be very physically and mentally taxing, and they should be willing to do it if it's their dream.
