People are always saying "don't be negative" but the recent receipts are giving me nothing to be positive about.
This single was released three months ago and sent to radio one month ago, yet nothing is happening. It's 29 on iTunes, six of the seven last Kworb updates have been red, it's not increasing much on radio anymore, it's at the very bottom for pop callouts, it hasn't increased on Spotify in weeks, and it doesn't look like Ariana's going to be doing extensive promo to make it happen.
The worldwide receipts aren't any better. It already peaked in Oceania, which was the only market that seemed to be here for it. The discount didn't do much to help it increase on iTunes much anywhere - and even if it did, it fell down the charts shortly after. Spotify isn't increasing. Also, it's been falling on iTunes WW every day for the last few days.
I get that a VMA performance could help, but I honestly don't think Ariana should waste such a valuable promo slot for a song that the GP clearly isn't latching onto. I say Ariana drops Into You and performs Side To Side at the VMAs with Nicki (and drops the video that same night).
