I haven't noticed much Taylor hate but I'm sure you are right. It pales in comparison to her praise however that I get from people in real life and from what I see all over the internet.

I really don't think it's been predictable/boring when Beck won last year, Daft Punk won 2 years ago, etc. They're usually very unpredictable. I mean, Herbie Hancock's win in 2008 (a black artist, btw) was also a shock. That's the nature of the show. So many factors go into voting that the awards are usually hard to predict and in the end, it's all subjective. I think when you look across the nominees in all the categories (and esp. in AOTY), it's hard to turn it into an argument about racism. This isn't the Oscars where minorities are not being represented and are not on the voting committee. Many factors led to 1989's win, and I think the team behind it is deserving.
And there's so much Taylor backlash on the internet too
