Duca, I never said "3" was a flop. It wasn't, AT ALL. It just couldve had a MUCH MORE decent run. And if Britney wouldve promoted it, it wouldve been a HUGE hit.
THAT's my theory.
And I don't think HIAM is a flop either. It isn't, I just feel it has SOOO MUCH MORE potential, and I don't wanna see a song that could be bigger than California Gurls or OG go to the trash being only a "Big HIT". I don't know if you're getting my point, I just feel the song still has a lot to give and that "lot" is about to go to the trash for lack of promotion.

If you know your ass is going to be in danger, why even bother.
It's like going into a mob meeting, while wearing a wire, and having it show. Don't come into the lion den wearing a piece of meat.

If people were tired of Britney, you would KNOW. People aren't tired of her.
....and if Britney REALLY wanted to, she would SNATCH every individual hair out of the SCALP of every woman and male artist in this industry.

A song not reaching its full potential and a song flopping are two different things.

No. And don't bring up GaGa.
I bet a lot of girls that are huge right now will he nowhere near where Britney is now at a 10+ point in their career. I'm sure at least one of them will be forgotten. So where she is now is an accomplishment in itself.
She has accomplished so much, & she should never be expected to reach such huge heights again. I do think some interest has been lost. Of course, that seems crazy to say after seeing how many records HIAM broke in its first week. Her initial sales & hype will always be humongous, because of her established status as a pop industry icon. I'm more talking about interest in terms of longetivity. People seem to be losing interest in her music quicker than they used to.

EXACTLY.
She has all of that power, that's why we are so frustrated. The lessors are just getting by because Britney isn't doing anything.

There's no doubt, interest has been lost. But that's with every artist, not just Britney Spears. It's ridiculous to jump the gun and basically say no one cares for her, due to "HIAM"'s so far decent performance following it's debut week. I feel it's more about exposure than anything. Sure, we can account the fact the single has millions of AI on radio. But so does a lot of songs that are selling significantly less than it right now. You just don't know what a little of promotion can do, and I will patiently wait for it.
And it's very doubtful the rest of this era's singles will perform like "HIAM".

Which is why that 10 second snippet of Inside Out is getting radio play.

I think its because she hasn't done anything in a while and she hasn't really been put in the public eye as much as the other girls such as performing at award shows and doing tv show interviews/performances shes also been gone for a while.

I agree 100%.
I don't need to start listing songs that are actual flops, but HIAM is not one of them.

Some of you need a time out and come back when you are less spastic about her promotion. Britney said she is doing a lot of promotion and that means there will be promotion. Just wait.

You said the public isn't interested in Britney? Then what do we make of Rihanna, Katy, and Kesha? It's the other way around, boo. Britney isn't that much invested in the public, if she did, the public would be ALL OVER HER. She just doesn't create stupid gimmicks and stunts or write songs about craving the media. She's higher than that. Your logic doesn't make ANY sense whatsoever.

Exactly!!!!
Lets bring the point home, I think we're all on the same page here........
Hold It Against Me ISN'T a flop. HIAM is just under-performing GIVEN the potential it has. Britney ISN'T a flop. She is just under-performing GIVEN the potential she has. JIVE ISN'T a flop. But they are under-performing given all the potential they offer as a label.
There.

Her lack of longevity is not from people waking up & deciding they have lost interest in her. Like you said, her openings will always be big due to her status. But as you also mention, her age in the industry is higher. So against other, younger stars who are mercifully promoting their albums and singles, she looks bad when she isn't doing the same.
That shouldn't be automatically associated with a loss of interest, though. If she had done the Grammys, we'd see that is inaccurate very quickly.

No shade but Ke$ha, Katy, and GaGa try too hard to get attention.
Britney just GETS IT....and that's why she'll never lose it.
For GaGa those antics will eventually grow old or she'll run out of ideas.
I can see people getting tired of GaGa faster than Britney. Britney is real, people want to know MORE about her. It has been 13 years and we still don't know TRULY about Britney.

Well of course that's a big part of it. I think if she got herself out there A LOT a considerable amount of interest could be regained.
It shouldn't be expected for her to be as big as Rihanna or Katy right now. They are at entirely different points in their career. The fact that Britney is holding her ground is good in itself.
