although on paper it seems people sell more during the holiday I think its a bigger risk. otherwise everyone would release at that time

The holiday freeze thing is radio. Holiday/4th quarter releases are biggest, hence why the beginning of the year is always slow, due to there being bigger sales. So it's actually easier to maintain during Holiday season. The main issue with BRITNEY though, is she doesn't promote much after the Holiday season when sales die down severely, so her sales suffer. That's why Circus sold 1.6 million in like 3 months, and yet that is still it's tally LOL.

THIS!!! It's the perfect time to get a big debut, promote, and get smashing radio spins. Eventually the album will suddenly receive a big boost from the holiday sales which are always big because of the bargain prices. September is the idol time to release. VMAs would be a perfect platform to start promoting at.

Also, tour tickets would be on sale by Christmas....which would make a SPECTACULAR x-mas gift.

Circus could have been a lot bigger if she promoted more. The music was great, but OMG that was the most BORING Britney era ever. After the Christmas period she simply stopped promoting. Full stop. She barely made public appearances or did any interviews.

I really do not want a repeat of that again. I don't want another boring era.

^ the promo prior to chrisitmas was good. And the tour was allways intresting, but hopefully this era she will promote alot longer.

i think she will promote more on this next album..im just feeling it. she didn't have enough time to promote circus cause she needs to rehearse for the tour cause it's just few months away.

She..... went on a world tour. I'm sorry but that's top priority for me as a fan. The 2 dates I went to were the highlights of last year for me. It was a great make-up for the cancellation of Onyx.

Exactly.

People expected her to do hardcore promotion with the legal stuff, rehearsals for the touring coming up in only a matter of weeks, plus general life as a parent. I guess it was boring for those who didn't go to the show and/or those who complained about every damn thing. But the 2 shows I went to will always be remembered.
