Why is the CGI so poor in this film? Massive budget, yet it's really fake looking and muddy.

I'm still surprised at Sophie Turner stealing the movie like that. I was very skeptical about her playing Jean since the beginning - i'm happy that she did a wonderful job. Can't wait to see it again.

Some moments definitely felt that way. I'm shocked because one of the best things about DOFP was how excellent the CGI was, particularly with the sentinels (past and future)

Since his energy goes into another form... It's possible he entered another mutant there. The obv choice would be Paylocke but who knows. I hated how he just died. Like, he's unkillable. Oh wait, no he isnt. The end.

Same. I thought the weak points of the movie would be the young Jean/Scott/Nightcrawler but Jean and Scott were two of the highlights of the movie for me. The weak points were all about Apoc and the four horsemen (except for JLaw's blue make up. In 2016, there's no reason for it to look so fake.)

The CGI looked better than it looked in the trailers imo. At parts it looked like scenes from a video game though.

I think the scene with the worst CGI is the one where Psylock uses her blade to soften her landing after the plane crashes

Civil War also had terrible moments of CGI and no one is hating on it. A scene with blackpanther looked straght up video game.

A lot of MCU fans talked about that Black Panther CGI and Tony's head in the airport scene. Your obsession with finding excuses to bash Civil War though time to let this anger go sis, plus it's X-men thread

Yeah, I didn't expect that either. I left the cinema surprised about how the new cast were incredible.

Would you guys prefer Apocalypse to be performance capture? I'm quite torn because I thought Oscar Isaac was too small and sometimes it was too obvious that it's him with a ton of prosthetics so it did hurt the character a bit but there's also a risk of the villain looking like that white CGI orc in the Hobbit which would be even worse.

No, I really liked him the way he was. Motion capture would be too lifeless for such a character. The fact that he's not exactly tall is a nice contrast with his megalomaniac attitude and powers.

It was funny for me and the crowd in Poland when Magneto started speaking Polish. Fassy was so cute. He tried.
