Matty, I really think it looks amazing. My mind is blown! I love the color you chose, and don't worry about it being too simple - I think it completely fits me and my personality. Amazing original concept, but I love how it turned out in the end. Thank you for making this!

Where is everyone?
I gave the time hoping everyone would be here. I've got the judges comments compiled, everything calculated, about to write up the judging too.
Reason: My parents are re-doing our bathroom and I've been helping

It's basically a stan swap, and stan swaps don't really work because the user has no true connection to the artist they're stanning for. I dunno, I just don't see how doing well in this challenge shows how much of a top member one is!

I like your challenge idea, and think that it brings an integral part of ATRL (stanning) into the Top Member experience. I like that you came up with an original idea that brings a huge component of this forum into this game.
The Bad: Maybe this is very Charm Schooly of me, but I worry about the possibility of messiness here. Stanning is one thing, but having to explain why your artist is better than another may veer into dangerous flame-bait territory.
The Bottom Line: To be honest, I think the past week and this week have been your strongest entries so far. You've stood out to me more-so lately, and I hope you keep it up.

As for you game, I do agree stanning is a big part of this form and how you stan is highly looked at. With your description, it took me a while to figure out what the goal of the challenge was. I had to re-read the statement multiple times, but I eventually figured it out. One thing I didn’t like was the actual goal. Of the artists chosen for this challenge, some clearly had a better last era than the other already giving a biased to whomever chose who first. A much better goal would be to see which artist would be better to stan for based off facts the contestants would give compared to their opponent. There would make a much more interesting judging than just judging based on facts given based on their last era. I would also let the contestants either have free range on the artist to stan for or have them choose an artist they aren’t too familiar with or dislike. Overall, I like it. It is a great idea, but needed a better execution. I could see it being a challenge with revision.

The Good: Week after week, you present a well written and cohesive entry. Maybe that's an odd thing to notice, but it's something that I personally find very important. I can tell from your posts that you are naturally a good writer, but you also make a point to put thought into what you present. I may have never pointed it out before, but I want you to know I appreciate your proper spelling, grammar, and paragraph structure. To me, that's a giant part of coming across as a Top Member. Keep it up, I know you will.
The Bad: I'm not crazy about this challenge. I know it's been done before in other games, but I just don't think it would be an exciting one to judge... I'm also not super crazy about your attitude of "well there's lots of games so everything's been done before". I think that's possibly a cop out, since others were able to come up with something creative.
The Bottom Line: In terms of presentation, you consistently ace it and come across as a Top Member. This week, in terms of content, it wasn't really there. If I saw this from you every week, I'd be worried. But I'm not...

It’s interesting, very interesting. There is something about your challenge that I really like, but yet something that makes me hesitant. As for what I really like is the fact of redoing your weakest challenge. Taking the judges critiques and changing it makes things interesting. The only downside I see is that not everyone is going to be doing the same challenge. It’s a slight downside, but it could potentially make judging and eliminating a little difficult since everyone would be judged on different aspects. That’s what makes me a little hesitant. I see where you were going with it though. I liked the tiny little detail of the drop down menu of the each challenges assigned for the contestants to re-do. However, I would personally let the contestants choose which challenge they felt weakest in instead of assigning it to them. Also, just a little hint, you have Zaid’s name on pika’s avatar body Overall, it’s good. I see the idea, like the overall concept, hesitant on the actual execution.

Like Zaid, I don't see how this challenge shows top member potential.

The Bad: That being said, it would be really difficult to judge. I find the "music taste" one hard enough as is - what makes a song a hit for me may not make it a hit for another judge, and vice versa. I see what you did with trying to have us judge more on layout and "theme", but I'm still not entirely sure what the parameters would be.
The Bottom Line: Not a bad idea by any means, but I think it needed a little more thought put into exactly how it would play out. You're on the right track, just felt like it needed some more developing.

As well as finding new music that could possibly be a hit. What the biased-ness comes into play is that we judges would all have a different opinion on it. Me, I like a good cheesy, easy breezy beautiful cover girl type song, but some of the other judges may not. It would easily become a biased mess with no general agreement like I’m looking for with judging. Yes the reason for having multiple judges is to have different opinions, but this is just one with too much bias. Overall, I love the general concept, but the execution would not work at all; too much bias.

The Good: A really fun challenge idea, and one I'd like to see done. I'm always interested in everyone's journeys on ATRL - what brought them here, what set them apart from the masses, how they've changed, etc. I think it would be cool to see what everyone did with this, and a chance for everyone to learn about each other. You came up with a really awesome idea here. I was also about to drag you for coming up with one where all the entries would be SO SO long, but I was happy to see you only wanted Chapter names. I think that's a good touch.
The Bad: See what I said to Anna about how I appreciate her flawless writing? I wish I could say the same to you. I know not everyone is a great writer or speller (and that's fine!) but what I want is for you to at least spell check. When I see a post that's properly written, I immediately get a vibe that that person is put together and articulate. When I see a post with spelling errors and weird sentence structure, that person comes across as a little more all over the place. If your posts represent who you are and how you come across, I think it shows a lot of integrity when you take just the few seconds it takes to spell check it.
The Bottom Line: You think you clever with that strike out font? No nudes for you.

At first I was thinking, ‘oh Jeremy, no’, but then you gave the example and everything made sense. The creativity of this challenge is in full force. That is probably the only thing I liked about it though. It would be a fun challenge for you all to make chapters and introduction of your autobiography based on your life on ATRL thus far, but even based on presentation it would be hard to judge; much harder than the music taste. Anyone can format their chapters, title, and info in some way to stand out, but ultimately people want to know what they are reading, so they have to look more into it. That is what you were trying to avoid from what you were talking about. Also, I don’t think adding your own personal example was the best idea. Imagine this was deemed best by the judges and the others convinced me they want this as the next challenge, what you are going to submit since the main bulk of your entry is already out in the open. Overall, cute, nice, and creative, but don’t see it working. PS: My birthday is two days before yours, so mine is more important

The Good: Nice way to go above and beyond with the Kitty Mail. Once again, I can tell you've looked back at past seasons and it's benefited you. As for your challenge itself, this is the one I'd most like to see done and most like to judge. I think some fun things could come out of this, and challenges that are open ended and let creativity shine are always my favourite. Good idea here. I also like that you mentioned leadership. That's an important Top Member trait that hasn't been mentioned much.
The Bad: You forgot to link to the most important and exciting new event - The ATRL Game Awards brought to you by one flawless boyonce. I kid, I kid.
The Bottom Line: I really like it and hope it happens.

Though, it is kind of similar to my thread challenge I do, but this is more focused on The Lounge when mine is usually either just Base related or either Base or Lounge. It would be a fun challenge for you all to make up and for us to judge, considering most of the judges do play along in these situations. A downside I could see is that, an event we judges may deem weak could end up, once posted, a hit event. Then, vice versa with one that we may deem best could end up being worst. ATRL it’s members are unpredictable on what they like and what they don’t like. Overall, I really like and could see this being used. PS: Cute Kitty Mail, but it advertising alcohol when some of the members are underage, myself included for another 20+ days

Now that you have met with the judges, when we return only 4 of you will be moving on to becoming ATRL's Next Top Member!

Thanks for the comments, though, I appreciate what you thought about my idea.
Julian, I actually wasn't gonna let the contestants pick what challenge they'd revisit, in the drop down menu I had assigned them the challenges And I see where you're coming from with the difficulty of judging it, that's why I was thinking it would be less a comparison between the contestants - since they're all gonna work on something different - and more a comparison between their first entry and their second entry, to see if/how they improved it and whether they took your critiques into consideration.

ATRL's Next TOP MEMBER Cycle 9 | The Fantastic Four!
ATRL's Next
topmember
Cycle 9
Kitt, Pika, Zaid, Anna, Jeremy
Welcome ladies! Tonight we will be seeing who is moving on to becoming ATRL's Next Top Member.
Let me introduce the judges...
1) EdgeOfAddiction - Cycle 8 winner
2) Doc - ATRL moderator
3) extrachapstick - Cycle 5 winner and Cycle 6 host
4) boyonce - Cycle 8 runner-up
Earlier this evening you all met with the judges and we evaluated your entries...
HERE
Now it's time to see who is going home!!
5 members stand before me, but only 4 will continue on to becoming ATRL's Next Top Member.
The first member I call has been deemed best of the week and will have their name displayed in my signature until the next judging...
The best entry is...
1) KITT
Back on top! Basically you rocked it and were close to having a unanimous #1 on all the judge's list, but one actually rated you the worst. This challenge is one you would either like or not like, fortunately for you majority of the judges loved it.
JUDGE AVERAGE: 1.8
COMPETITOR AVERAGE: 1.5
Congratulations, you are still in the running to becoming ATRL's Next Top Member!
2) JEREMY / DRIPDRIP
Again at number two! I hope you are feeling proud. Your entry this week was creative, but honestly it is quite subjective and would be hard to judge, in my opinion. However, the judges disagree. I was actually the only judge to rank you low.
JUDGE AVERAGE: 2.4
COMPETITOR AVERAGE: 2
Congratulations, you are still in the running to becoming ATRL's Next Top Member!
3) ANNA / BORNTODIE
Barely missing the bottom two again. However, we got to see an average entry from you which I loved. Your challenge was neither good nor bad, it was just there, love it or hate it.
JUDGE AVERAGE: 3.2
COMPETITOR AVERAGE: 3
Congratulations, you are still in the running to becoming ATRL's Next Top Member!
Will Zaid and Pika please step forward.
I only have one name typed out in the DarkOrchid font below and that person will be moving on to becoming ATRL's Next Top Member.
Zaid --- Back in the bottom for you my future Canadian doctor. From the challenges given this week, yours obviously wasn't the worst. However, one problem that a bunch of judges took off points for was Stan Swap and that it could possibly become a little messy. I actually liked it, but once again it was one of those you either love it or you hate it. As for your history in the competition, you only had a few stand out moments. The rest has been okay, a few being not so good. You have this it factor about you, but for some reason it's not translating in your entries for us judges and everyone to see. You are constantly being overshadowed, which is a bad thing for a top member.
Pika --- The first time in the bottom for chu, Pika. Let's be honest about your challenge, most of the judges just didn't like it, except for one. It was something different, but it's one of those things like how can you judge a song when you have no idea it's outcome. It's sort of on the same level as the Tour Setlist/Music Taste challenge. As for your history, you started off okay in the beginning, always here and there. Then, you found your niche and were placed in the top 3, until this week. You have impressed us and stood out in your challenges, but was it enough to move you on compared to the poor work of this challenge?
So who stays!?
4) PIKA
Congratulations, you are still in the running to becoming ATRL's Next Top Member!
Despite the poor challenge this week, your track history is much stronger than Zaid's. You've made it this far without being in the bottom or being near, which is impression, and know how to stand out in your challenges. You've got what it takes, let's see it full force now.
JUDGE AVERAGE: 4.2
COMPETITOR AVERAGE: 3
Zaid --- JUDGE AVERAGE: 3.4
COMPETITOR AVERAGE: 3
I know you have that top member quality in you, I have seen it multiple times throughout the time I've known you on ATRL. However, this competition we just didn't see it as much as I personally would have liked. I personally thought when you made it into the competition you would have done a whole lot better and made it to the top three or final two, but that's not the case now is it. I guarantee we'll be seeing you around ATRL. Just remember, some of those eliminated and not won, had become Top Member's in time.
Fierce and Love

Good lord. Thank you judges for saving me and I promise to step it up for the next challenge. I was actually fearing this one the most when I started the competition.
Bye Zaid, it was nice having you as a competitor.

Congrats Kitt on getting #1, you were my favorite entry, and I don't think I could have seen anyone else at #1 this week!
Sad to see you go Zaid
