Yeah I'll wait until the album drops to make any judgment and if I don't like it I still won't jump ship, I'll just take a hiatus for the era. I've been around way too long and have way too much invested to abandon her over one album. I've seen her at awards shows, festivals, a small seedy bar, her little college tour, CMA fest, etc etc. we go way back.
Unfortunately the only indication of the direction of the album we have is very pop. We have vague descriptions of other songs, none of which really make me any more excited, the Ed Sheeren duet and a couple of popish performances, so it's easy to see why fans have meltdowns. As for me, well I waited all year for new material and then have to spend over a month with a song that I have a strong dislike for and a video I dislike even more. It's hard, tbh.
But as much as I dislike WANEGBT I'd buy the country mix if it was available because I've got her back on these things. (Not touching the pop version). However BM doesn't seem to want to throw any love to the country fanbase. Rude!
She has so many great ones to choose from.
"tonight lets get some, and live while we're young" ??!!??!! its a song promiting one night stands!!
