Also, I hate to keep bringing this up, but it pisses me off so much that ATRL is still saying that 25 had no impact and that "the era was done after 'Hello.'"
ATRL is not the best place to measure Adele's impact. They truly live in their own world
Imagine if their faves sold at least half of Adele's numbers. They would screaming "my fave's Thriller!!!" or somehing like that
I'm shocked. Honestly, more shocked that she didn't get a music video nomination than I would have been if she didn't get an AOTY nomination. I thought music video was a shoe in nomination TBH. I love Formation, but personally don't think it's a better music video than Hello all things considered.

It's at least good enough for a nomination considering her sitting in a chair was some how good enough to actually win the award. I love RITD and think it's a good video, but when I really look at things, I believe RITD won best video because it was just a part of the big Adele bandwagon of 2012. Kind of like "we are giving her 5 wins so we might as well give her all 6 While we're at it" type of thing. I believe this bandwagon of support 21 had is the same/very similar to the bandwagon of support Lemonade is getting. For that reason, I wouldn't be shocked if Adele gets shut out by Bey in everything they share nominations in. Adele will take Pop Vocal Album and maybe Pop Solo Performance. Hopefully I'm wrong and she takes more but things are looking pretty good for Bey at this point. I also think the Grammys will finally crack under all of the outside pressure to give Bey the major awards. Much like the Academy Awards were pressured over years to give DiCaprio an award.
Edit: This comes off as pretty harsh I think. I might be pulling all this s*** straight from my a** idk. The Grammys are so unpredictable anymore.
Aside from the Best M/V snub I'm pretty satisfied with the noms. I mean she only submitted for six categories anyway so nothing is too surprising.
As long as she wins Pop Solo Performance and Pop Vocal Album I'll be happy. The only threat in these two categories is none other than Beyoncé herself for the former category as she makes her appearance in the pop category for the first time in years. But I say Adele is still likely to win that award since Hello was the bigger hit than Hold Up. Basically Bey got nominated here based on name alone. A reverse 2010 Grammys experience.
The general field awards are also between these two, with Adele having greater chances at SOTY and ROTY, and Beyoncé with AOTY, but Bey could also snatch SOTY/ROTY.
Yeah there's no way Beyoncé will win Best Rock Performance, that'll go to Bowie or someone else. The outrage from old grandparents and poser teenagers online if Bey beats a revered rock legend
So Bey won't sweep entirely. At best she'll win 8, and even then I don't think that'll be the case.
Winning one of the General Field categories more than once is actually harder than we think, so if Adele manages to win even just one General Field category I'll be extremely happy.
I could see Adele winning all 5 categories, but it'll be very tough. This is why she should have done more to promote the album during the year. It's going to be hard.
Pop Vocal, Pop Solo, and Record of the Year are locks though imo.
Sturgill will probably snatch AOTY and Lukas Graham could take SOTY.
