Governments are advising against all non-essential travel for pregnant women and couples (it's actually worse for men) planning to become pregnant. So if she was being legit about that, that alone is enough not to go.

Imo the massive concern from the US and Europe actually stems more from the fact that it's sexually transmitted. You could have a single person go to Brazil, contract the virus, and then see it unknowingly passed to thousands (and their potential offspring) who will never come anywhere near an infected mosquito. However, it can also be passed from person to mosquito, which presents even more risk for unknown spread.

It sounds awful, but I think it's better if she leaves them hanging. There's a cultural/informational difference in play here - her saying she's avoiding Zika for whatever reason isn't going to get the same response as it would from US/EU folks because we see the severity of the virus in a totally different way. Her saying she's not going for any reason other than Zika (imagine 'Ehhhhh I just don't feel like it' ) makes her look like she values them less as a people. I don't believe she intended falsehood way back to Camilla or more recently to anyone else, she simply spoke off-the-cuff about something that wasn't actually nailed down. The gap in tour dates, right when these shows were rumored to occur, is evidence of that. Not promoting anyone going back on their word, but if "more like 5 days"/"bye bye 25"/WWWY vid are any indication, this kind of thing from her is not malicious nor out-of-character. Also, if you'd notice, later in the tour, after the official decision was likely made, she didn't respond to South Americans with promises to come to them.

to need to pay or give something to someone because they have lent money to you, or in exchange for something they have done for you.

Brazilians have bought over two million of her records, making them the biggest market where she hasn't performed at or hasn't officially announced such event. They have given her and her labels at least a plenty of money. And when you add that she verbatim promised several times over that she will come to Brazil, you could say that yes, she does owe some sort of an explanation on why she's not going there. That would be an honest and transparent solution.They very much deserve it. I do agree that it's a bit cruel from her to keep saying she was coming there, I wish she would have kept quiet about this. However, if the reason is really Zika (which it should be, if she wants another kid - and it looks like she really does), then I have a question for all SA fans and everyone that keeps saying she HAS TO go - is a ****ing concert more important to you than a potential threat to your fave's and her kid's health? If the answer is yes, then honestly, you need to get your **** together.

If the Zika thing is why she's not going, then I agree that she should stay silent, but otherwise, I think she should say something. I just feel bad for them because she's said she was going to go there in the past.

Also, in regards to the setlist, I agree. I don't see "Hello" or "Rolling in the Deep" ever really changing their placement in her setlists. They're the perfect opener and closer, respectively. I'm pretty sure she'll keep "Someone Like You" and "When We Were Young" towards the end of the setlist, though. She should space out the upbeat songs more, though, instead of just cramming them all in at the beginning to "get them out of the way." But if she puts more upbeat songs in the setlist, it shouldn't be a problem.

EDIT: Denyy pretty much summed up the whole Zika thing. Her health is the most important factor. In all honesty, she just shouldn't have said anything about going there to be on the safe side. That way, at least people can't come back and use her own words against her.

She doesn't owe anyone anything, I agree. She never officially announced a SA leg so she's not obligated to try to make reparations. However, at the same time it could come across as snooty if she pays Brazilians dust after showing interest in touring there. A representative could send out a statement to the press if she wants to owe an apology, which would be nice, but as daydreams noted explaining would be a lot harder than we think, something I haven't thought of before. I suppose silence would be the best option in this scenario.

Have you seen the mess on twitter when European or US Daydreamers pointed out Zika as a reason why she shouldn't go? People were called xenophobic bitches, racists and accused of "spreading fear" and other ****. After seeing this, I honestly don't think that her giving them an official reason is going to help anything.

Tbh, I don't care about the reaction we may have been seeing on Twitter so far. That's kind of their problem for not being understanding of why some people may not want to go.

Also yes Adele doesn't owe anyone anything, but a simple message shouldn't really hurt at all. Adele has said many things on tour that was deemed "controversial" but that didn't seem to matter back then.
