Stallone got a SO at both the CCA and the Globes, his name was arguably the most cheered at the Oscar Nominations and his acceptance speeches have been on point he is totally getting The Oscar

Eddie Murphy won every Supporting category for Dreamgirls until the Oscars when Alan Arkin won for Little Miss Sunshine. Pretty much "Norbit" ruined Eddie's chances for the Oscar.

Yes it is a front-runner to win best original song. But i think Manta Ray song might pull a surprise.

He is a white old heterosexual man in a category mainly voted by white old heterosexual men. Plus his character is too iconic and it will be like a career achievement for him, and they won't have to give him an honorary award in the next decade or so.

White heterosexual man Russell Crowe lost to Denzel after winning everything else.

There are reasons, but still. Oscar has proven in the past that voters are fine with denying someone who seems to be a runaway frontrunner.

I finally saw The Revenant last night and I REALLY hope it doesn't win Best Picture The cinematography and directing were amazing, but overall I thought the story was very predictable, safe and unnecessarily stretched out into 2.5 hours.

Spotlight or even The Big Short deserve Best Picture over The Revenant if you ask me.

I hope so. Although it seems like The Revenant is gaining a lot of momentum in the Best Picture race, especially after the Golden Globe win

On another note, it seems like Room is going to be this year's Whiplash - a relatively unknown but phenomenal movie that gets a Best Picture nom but doesn't really end up winning much other than one really predictable acting win. I'm really hoping that Room can get a surprise win in another big category though, since it was my favourite movie this year.

Also, does anybody know why Brooklyn got a Best Picture nomination and Carol didn't? I don't really follow those smaller awards that influence the Oscars, but it just seems odd to me that Carol got 6 nominations and Brooklyn only got 2 besides Best Picture, yet the latter got a Best Picture nom.
