I reconsidered my pressedness and I'm fine with it. We all believe in CIara, but the fact is that she hasn't had 2 hits in the same era since The Evolution. FR had LSM, BI had Ride and Ciara had BP, but no more than that. Epic knows that and since I Bet is becoming a hit (minor to moderate), they want to release the album in association to I Bet before it dies down, in fear that they won't get a second hit. That's EXACTLY what Jive should have done when Ride smashed out of nowhere, but instead they waited and ended up sabotaging her.

Let's just be happy that 1) we'll get new material in a month from now, 2) we have a hit in our hands

What's gonna happen between today and May 4th exactly? I was relying on the second single to be pop and smash with the album following that, there's no way that's happening in a month. I just feel like this is gonna be yet another big missed opportunity

I Bet could of being doing SO much better right now if we had some promo, radio tours, wendy, ellen etc already.. Its all a little bit too late, and i think they release that and are throwing it out to get the best it can.. thing is if they took some time with it and had a REALLY strong, well picked 2nd single and chucked her out there everywhere, she could defo pull 80 -100k.. its too late now, unless the second single is immense and they plan on some PROPER promo..

I'm Out was released a week before the album. They did try but it failed. Overdose was gonna be released but she became pregnant and the era ended.

Overdose and LIU were smashes, but pop / rhythmic smashes, while Ci's main format was (and is) urban and they wanted to cater to that first before moving on to a crossover hit. There was NO reason why radio would snub I'm Out. It was urban, had a hot beat and a hot feature and was well promoted as well as successful on iTunes and VEVO. But they did snub it and it flopped because urban radio refused to even give it a chance. It peaked at #27 for God's sake

What if the big crossover smash we all want comes out and urban doesn't pick it up (because it's not meant for them), yet rhythmic only gives it the minimal support they're giving to I Bet and pop doesn't even TOUCH it? So, I'm just saying you can never really predict what Ciara song will catch on and if radio will support her. Rhythmic is not here for her fully yet, pop hasn't been here since LSM, so now that she has an urban hit, I guess Epic can launch the album.

However, Epic needs to send I Bet to urban AC NOW!

Internationally, a LOT more could have been done. I agree. In the US, it got 3 performances though. Body Party was still #1 when it stalled I think.

expecting ciara to just release a pop single and have it smash a month before her album is extremely wishful thinking, especially considering it wouldn't even be enough time for her to really even smash on her main format. they would have to push it back a couple of months, and by then any buzz from i bet will be gone, so if that pop single failed it would be a wrap for the campaign.

but yeah I Bet was a pretty boring lead single choice, she knew everyone was waiting for a slow jam or an uptempo.
