The pre-chorus sounds like one of those mid-tempo R&B/Dancehall songs. Something like "Turn Me ON" or "Tempted to Touch" the way that part in particular sounds is similar to songs like those.
It's a very smooth song. It should be a single.
Those songs were my LIFE in the mid noughties, I'm looking forward to Don't Hold the Wall now (going through the tracks in order, currently on Suit & Tie).
On second listen, "Strawberry Bubblegum" is a real laid back song. It almost TOUCHES the line of being too lounge singer-ish
