Top 30 Albums of 2012
--Usually I do a Top 20, but this year, since singles were not as great, I got into other singles that I might not normally have gotten into, that lead me to listening to more albums. All these albums really hit the right spot with me. In order for the album to be in the Top 30, it most either be an full legnth studio album OR on EP with at least 8 song on it AND must have been released between December 1, 2011-November 30, 2012. Greatest Hits, EP's with less than six songs, remix or etc. albums were not eligiblle.

01: No Doubt - Push and Shove

--After an 11 year wait, No Doubt FINALLY returned to the music scene with Push and Shove. And while I know many were disappointed, and the sales weren't as good as expected, but I still LOVE this album. Above all else, the nostalgia feeling of the album is just It's fun, light-hearted and most of all, doesn't try hard to be something it's not. If I had to change anything about this era, maybe I just would have picked better singles, but other than that, I LOVE this album. It may not be their best album, but even No Doubt's 3rd best ***** on others
I LOVE the intro to Settle Down. It sorta sets up the anticipation for this album. While I would have chosen a different lead single, Settle Down is still a great song and remains loyal to ND's sound. Looking Hot is a great uptempo, and totally fits with that southern California "style". It could have worked well for the Lead Single. I was disappointed at first with One More Summer, but it has now become of my FAVS from the summer. I mean, her emotions alone on this track are just epic. But the somberness of the track, and the hope, is just . The most experimental track, Push and Shove is just INSANE!!! Gwen rap style verses are just to die for, but then she goes into that HYPNOTIZING chorus and TOTALLY changes the song. I was nervous with them working with Diplo, but the delieverd . Easily my favorite song off the album is Easy . I mean the intro ALONE is amazing. It sorta reminds me of Cool by Gwen (which is also one of my favs). The lyrics are simple, the song slowly lures you in, until that Chorus just sucks you in and their is no turning back. Gravity is just a lovely song thats very light hearted, but still sincere. I LOVE the instrumental for Undercover. The overall vibe is just great. I LOVE the build up for Undone. Gwen's voice just fits the song SO WELL, and her emotional totally just projects to your heart. Sparkle is probably my least favorite song. It's still a great song thoough. It's a total layback summer song. Heaven reminds me of an 80's song that just wont leave your head. It's so fun . Then the album ends with one of the best songs to end an album, Dreaming the Same Dream. It's magical, its a fantasy, its...dreamy . Simplicity of lyrics is just what this song comes down too.
Even though the album didnt light up the chart like so many wanted it too, that doesnt take away from the fact that this is the BEST ALBUM of the year. The whole concept is just
Song Rankings:
01. Easy
02. One More Summer
03. Push and Shove
04. Undone
05. Dreaming the Same Dream
06. Heaven
07. Settle Down
08. Looking Hot
09. Undercover
10. Gravity
11. Sparkle
