This week, Michael Jackson breaks the record for the most spins in one week as his tenth and final studio album Invincible debuts at #1 with 130 spins; it is also certified Silver. The previous record was held by Beyoncé, whose debut album Dangerously in Love had a spincount of 126 in its fourth week. Another record Invincible earns is largest debut spincount; the previous record was held by Chris Brown's Fortune, which earned 112 spins in its debut week.
Britney Spears' eponymous third album Britney stays at #2 for a second week, despite having a 42% decline in spins; this week, its spincount is 39, compared to last week's 68. Beyoncé's Dangerously in Love rebounds two positions to #3 with 34 spins. It now has a total spincount of 460, only 40 spins away from being certified Platinum. Ray of Light, the seventh album from Madonna, moves up two rungs to #4; it earns 33 spins, a spincrease of 17% from last week. Britney Spears' former #1 album In the Zone moves down one spot to #5, with 24 spins, a decline of 33%.
Usher's latest offering Looking 4 Myself re-enters the chart for an eight week at #6 after dropping off last week. It has a spincount of 23, bringing its total spincount to 129, enough to be certified Silver. Rihanna's Loud comes in at #8 this week with 20 spins; it drops five spots from last week, thanks to a 60% spin decline. MDNA, Madonna's 12th album, re-enters for a fifth week, charting for the first time in 3 weeks. It has a spincount of 18. Rihanna's Talk That Talk debuts at #10 with 14 spins; it is her second album to chart.
The total combined number of spins this week is 357, a drop of only 3% from last week, and the second highest number of total weekly spins to date.
