KELLY CLARKSON
"MR. KNOW IT ALL"
RELEASE DATE: 5 September 2011 BEST PART: The chorus
The first ever American Idol returns to the music scene with very infectious pop hit off her latest album Stronger. I really prefer Kelly doing this type of songs cause she can deliver it well, belt the high notes perfectly and put all her emotions effectively. Let's see if she can secure stronger slots on my Best of 2012.

RIHANNA f/ CALVIN HARRIS
"WE FOUND LOVE"
RELEASE DATE: 22 September 2011 BEST PART: "Yellow diamonds in the light, power standing side by side" + "It's the light I'm feeling, I just can't deny."
R&B superstar Rihanna returns on the list with the first single off her latest album. At first play, I find the song catchy but too repetitive. However, the song grew on me as it received massive airplays and attention from people. It might not be Riri's best single but it surely has something that will stand out among her other hits.

KATY PERRY
"FIREWORK"
LAST YEAR'S #13
RELEASE DATE: 26 October 2010 BEST PART: "Maybe a reason why all the doors are closed, so you could open one that leads you to the perfect road" + The boom! boom! boom! part
"Firework" makes a reappearance on the list. And what's more impressive, she managed to retain her spot for two years. Despite being so 2010, "Firework" still managed to be one of my favorites jams for the first quarter. If you're thinking "Firework" is the highest re-entry on my list, think again.

KATY PERRY
"LAST FRIDAY NIGHT (T.G.I.F.)"
RELEASE DATE: 6 June 2011 BEST PART: The refrain and chorus
Yes, a back-to-back appearance courtesy of Katy Perry in the Top 15! Among all the singles off Teenage Dream, I would say this is the catchiest and most appealing. This song has been one of my favorite jams last summer. The tongue-twister-like chorus and dance-y beats are infectious. And yes, the video was also great!

MAROON 5 f/ CHRISTINA AGUILERA
"MOVES LIKE JAGGER"
RELEASE DATE: 21 June 2011 BEST PART: The chorus
The awesome collaboration between Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera is just a spot away from the Top 10. Who would've thought that Adam's and Christina's voice blended well and spawned an infectious and irresistible song? Probably Maroon 5's best single since "Makes Me Wonder".
