The thing about most of her ballads is that they are usually overproduced and pretty forgettable. I wouldn't call You & I a ballad, but it's one of the closest things in her discography (especially single wise) to a ballad aside from Speechless, Brown Eyes, Again, Again, Dope, and now MR.
Honestly, Million Reasons isn't her best song, but it's pretty damn good, and I don't really see how Dope touches anywhere near close to this considering how she butchered the studio, and even the live versions while good aren't really all that impressive. The lyrics are one of the best on ARTPOP but that's not hard to do either
I agree though, Monsters aren't really here for ballads (most of them) so I don't expect many of them to be into acoustic ballads of any sort.

We'll have to agree to disagree on Dopesus </3
But it's true that ballads (on her studio albums) have often been a weak point. To me, the ones verging more into power ballad territory are her best. I guess I prefer when she taps into the Elton John influence.
I don't understand why, since she has some beautiful ballads pre-fame. Like, I think it's weird that Captivated is better than this
