Style Impacts Radio
Taylor Swift’s brand new single, a Max Martin and Shellback produced track has been killing radio waves for the past twenty four hours following it’s release to digital retailers last night. This was before a major radio deal was struck and made for the song on Pop, Rhythmic, and Hot Adult Contemporary formats on radio. Prior to the radio deal it seemed as if Style would be fine being on it’s own to take on radio but we were told that Swift’s label, Tigerlily Recordings, wanted to speed things up by pushing it hard on multiple radio formats. We are told the song will be played at the top of the hour on every single pop, rhythmic, and hot adult contemporary station for seven days straight. “It’s one of the heaviest and most expensive radio deals we’ve ever seen made,” a worker for Mediabase posted in a blog.
Taylor Swift commented on the radio deal this morning in an interview with KIIS FM. “I’m not a huge fan of radio deals. I didn’t really want one for this song, I feel as if they make a song’s lifespan shorten. Quite drastically of course. It limits the room of growth and you have that god awful rolling effect the day the radio deal begins. But my label didn’t really give me a choice on whether or not I wanted one this time around. It was a little odd to hear someone tell me “well I’m sorry but were doing it anyway whether you like it or not” but I’m grateful it was over something small like this. Not like a single or album I wanted to release but they’re like “NO”. I’m really lucky to have a label who give me so much artistic freedom with my material and really invest in me and believe in me. That’s all I ever would ask from a label, then again I treat my label like my family cause they are.”
Although the response from the fans seemed to be mostly positive about the radio deal, many were against Swift's label for making the decision of giving the song such a radio deal. Most of the people against the idea of Swift having a week long radio where the song would be play at the top of the hour were either other artists, chart watcher, or label heads from other labels. One chart watcher openly expressed his distaste for the deal 'Style' received by funds of Swift's label, Tigerlily Recordings.
"I'm at a little bit of a loss for words here. A radio deal doesn't make sense to me. Especially not one this big for an artist like Taylor who's already a pop radio legend. What does she need one for? Why should she be taking up airplay other artists could be using to finally get their hit? Here she is with twelve top three singles, more than likely soon to be thirteen, while others are still trying to get their first or second. I share the same distaste for it as Taylor Swift, herself, but for different reasons." Needless to say the chart water was attacked verbally cyber style, many of Swift's fans sending him enough hate mail to make him deactivate his account.
Though he was just one of many people to criticize Swift for such a hefty radio deal, some other workers in the music industry felt the opposite, praising her. "I think it was a really good and innovative idea. A radio deal has been used so frequently over the years and really all of them are the same. They're either one day or two day but Taylor's really shaken things up by having a radio deal to last over an entire week. A radio deal that's for every station on not only the pop format but the hot adult contemporary too. It's just another thing I think that makes the best if not the best pop star we have right now. She's talented, beautiful, and a really ****ing intelligent and business savy girl. I applaud her for it," a worker from Billboard typed on his twitter in multiple continued tweets. The response has been mixed but it goes to show how big this radio deal really is.
The radio deal is expected to continue into next week and we’re told ‘Style’ alone in the past twenty-four hours has already gained over ten million audience impressions on the pop format alone, this is excluding other formats such as Rhythmic and HAC. With Swift’s first ever Greatest Hits album due out next week, we’re excited to see how ‘Style’ will impact the charts as it builds momentum for the compilation album to feed off of. Yours: The Greatest Hits will hit iTunes digitally and Target physically, both exclusive to both stores. Make sure to pre-order your copy now from iTunes or Target.com

Cara Delevingne on KIIS FM
1106 Words
![](https://s.yimg.com/ea/img/-/140617/cara_delevingne_daughter_model_19puvs1-19puvs5.jpg)
Cara Delevingne stopped by Los Angeles' biggest radio station, while on a busy promotional schedule for her brand new single 'La Belle' which was released just yesterday. The interview was aired live, after a few announcements and advertisements made throughout the day ever since the single's release, to get the maximum amount of people tuning in. A video of the interview was also uploaded to the Radio's channel, which showed Cara wearing a black masculine tuxedo.
Host: We are now on air with one of the world's biggest stars of 2013, who has just did her comeback with a soon to be a hit single titled 'LA BELLE'! Welcome back to KIIS FM Cara!
Cara: Hey guys! It's nice to be back!
Host: 'La Belle' is amazing! I've been playing it on top of every hour!
Cara: Wow thank you! It's nice to see people still support me through the genre change, one of my fears was that I'd letdown my fans after changing genres. But they were very supportive about it form what I've seen. I personally think I needed a change.
Host: So before we go more into you're own music, what are the songs that you have on repeat on your Ipod currently?
Cara: Mariah Carey's 'Whisper', I never really paid much attention to Mariah before she released 'The Stygian Chevalier', 'Chiaroscuro Nightingale' (GGD CAL) and the re-release of her album 'Merry Christmas' this year (GGD CAL) which I attended the listening party and got to actually meet her. Azealia Banks has always been one of my favorites her last single 'Metamorph' is amazing, I sort of want to make her appear on a remix of 'La Belle'.
Host: Now back to your music, tell us, you wrote the song 'La Belle' with Drake! How did this collaboration happen?
Cara: Well Beyonce was on Variety Records back in the summer before going to Hyped Records. At listening party of her album she introduced me to him as one of her friends, that's how we met. I met him at the AMAs as well during which we decided to work together on something after we discussed music and my next project. He had heard my debut by then and thought I had potential in a more Urban field, even if it's I'm not going full out rap. We met up again and we wrote 'La Belle' in like 30 minutes after I showed a first verse I had started. We also wrote a more trap version of 'Hot&Drunk' a track on the album, which I Then modified to make it sound slightly more up-beat give it a more disco sound, on which Giorgio Moroder worked on.
Host: How do you feel about working with all these big established artists?
Cara: Really happy. It just proves to me that I've made it big. I'm just looking forward to releasing this next album.
Host: You're album is mainly produced by Giorgio Tuinfort, why did you choose him?
Host: Because of Rihanna. She's such a big inspiration of mine, and her last album 'Unapologetic' is one of the best albums of 2012 in my opinion. AGAIN, Beyonce was involved. I met Rihanna at the Variety Records' headquarters after she had a meeting with Beyonce to feature on a song of the album. We talked for a few minutes and the discussion ended up around Rihanna's albums and Unapologetic more specifically and gave me Giorgio Tuinfort's number, who produced tracks such as 'Phresh out the runway'. The sessions with him were great he helped me a lot.
Host: Ok, could you show us you're live rapping skills now on air? Rap us a verse from La Belle!
Cara: Ok uhm... * Workin’ that weave/Brush the dust off my sleeve/La Belle, I’m the chief/Baddest bitch, baddest beauty/Can’t help that I’m good lookin’/All these bitches be lookin’* I hope I was good!
Host: You actually were! I'm surprised because You know back like a year ago, if someone would have told me Cara Delevingne could rap I would have just laughed, but you actually are good! Some people can also rap in studio but can't do anything live, you are talented.
Cara: Well thank you so much, I've just been practicing a lot. Again this was also one of my fears. Since I'm changing genres I had to change the way I sang and all. It was stressing me out at first. But then I started letting go of my fears and just doing whatever I want to do!
Host: Ok so you;re album has 16 songs...
Cara: Actually 16 were announced so far, the album will have 20 tracks with the 4 Deluxe Edition bonus tracks.
Host: ok, 20 tracks, which one of those would you like as singles?
Cara: Well I have a small list, let's see... Fur, Honey, Kiss To My Heart... Maybe the title track as well. I think a lot fo the songs on the album are singleworthy.
Host: Earlier we were talking about how you worked with Drake, you also worked on some tracks, actually 2 tracks with another British singer, Charli XCX, how was that experience?
Cara: Well it was great just so you know. We met up like back in Summer, as we were on the same record label. It was really nice to meet her. I knew a few songs by her back then, mainly 'Boom Clap' and a few songs which were on True Romance. After meeting her I gave a listen to all of 'True Romance' and fell in love with it... it must be like one my favorite albums ever. So it wa snice asking my manager to ask her manager if we could work together, to whcih she gladly accepted! She was really nice. We worked on 'Kiss To My Heart' and 'Behind Closed Doors', both turned out amazing. They also are some of the more Synthpop or Electronic songs on the album rather than full out urban.
Host: SO the album really has many different genres, do you think they all fit well together?
Cara: yes, it's a very experimental album, but all songs feel like they fit really well together. Like... every single song was meant to be on the album.
Host: Finally which album you prefer? Your debut 'CARA' or this one, 'Distant Horizon'?
Cara: My debut was nice but this one is just amazing. I think it's definitely an evolution from my debut and in a good way.
Host: Thank you for coming Cara, you cna now purchase the single 'La Belle' from the now available for pre-order 'DISTANT HORIZON'!
*La Belle Plays*

Can I release a Remix single this week even if I released La Belle this week? Is it part of the 1 single a week rule?

I cannot let someone else take the lead. I need to come and snatch. Most people do not know how much I have evolved from the last season.

Do you mean remix single as in a new version of your main single with another artist on the track/a remixed version of your main single (for example for clubs or something like that)? If so, then yes, you can.

Azealia Sings Metamorph On Z100
![](https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/proxy/b-bhNzJmP3oD05DLhSVlNznmpadGMs2uI_1bpjt03vWIWOv3cK64wBtFaLeAwgDik1RTjjMiT1f7DxMH_ZZvkT56mO22QyeiAlOnk9TY_w=w506-h285-n)
Promoting her latest hit, Metamorph, Azealia Banks went on air for Z100 to further speak of this risky house hit that the world has been anxiously awaiting for. Z100 already has had the song sitting at number one of their charts, keeping the song played every half hour thanks to a deal between banks records and Z100. However, after the interview with Z100, the song gained even more success getting hundreds of thousands of requests on the station and throughout the hour long interview, the song was played an approximate of 6 times. With the world on Azealia's pinky, almost everyone in the US tuned into the interview to see what she had to say about the hot new house track that was on top of almost 25 different iTunes charts around the world. "I just wanted to bring my fans a good song and I feel I did that. Don't you? I mean no one can disagree with this considering well, I'm doing pretty well on iTunes and on radio. I truly am excited for the era I have planned. It's something different, fun, and artistic. I describe it as art. Not ARTPOP. Just art. I have even more news of the album The Dying Stars coming this week. I want to bring this piece I've been working on for months and months to the masses. I think this is the time and I am ready to release the beast I've been growing." That was just one quote from the lengthy interview by Azealia Banks. With over a million views on YouTube, the interview with Azealia Banks and the Z100 DJs is one everyone has been listening and watching for.
The very first thing that was talked about during the interview was the album title. After announcing the title on Hot 97, the world wanted to know more. This was evident with the first question. Not even getting a chance to relax yet, Elvis Duran hit Azealia with the question "The Dying Stars. What's this mean? You recently announced this as the upcoming album by you on Hot 97. However, you never went into great detail as to what the title meant and what you meant of the title. Do you want to take the time to explain that here?" Azealia took a sip of her water and responded to the question saying "Well while producing this piece, I was sitting there. Asking myself and wondering, what will I call this? What will the title be? This wasn't your run of the mill hip hop or pop album. Hell, there's barely any rapping on there. This was a concept album. Something I've never done before and something that my fans have never seen before. I really wanted the title of the album to fit the content. You understand? I felt that 'The Dying Stars' was something that fit. The album is about your growth and development around your surroundings. It's about your life and your death. As you die, the stars you see in the night sky also die. I felt that no other album title really fit the content. I plan to release more info on the album once I perform and host Saturday Night Live. I'm anticipating it to be a grand event."
After speaking about the album in detail, without revealing really any new and important information, Azealia was then asked a question about the lead single off of the album, Metamorph. Wanting to know more, Azealia was asked "The song Metamorph, you recently performed your comeback performance on The Voice. What was that like? You performing such a different song to such a standard audience. It must've been different because like you said, this is really something you've never done before and something none of us have ever heard before from you." Azealia responded to the question with the following statement "It wasn't an issue. Really, it wasn't. I got a good response from the audience and iTunes blew up afterwards. The fact that this is a song like no other never crossed my mind while performing. What crossed my mind was that this is a song that I have worked my ass of on and I will be performing it for the masses for the first time ever. It never crossed my mind that this was a song that was different. I just wanted to share my music and that's what I did, I shared my music. I am so proud of my performance I gave though. Since then, the performance has been put on my VEVO account where it has gotten millions of views. I am so proud of the success I have been getting with the promotion of this song. I can only hope it'll continue. I plan to do a concert on BBC next Thursday. It's being currently advertised everywhere. I am really excited for it and I just hope my fans enjoy watching it as much as I enjoy putting on the show. I have a lot of good things planned. Metamorph will be one of many songs I'll perform." "Will you perform new songs off of your album?" Duran asked. To which Azealia responded "Well of course, you'll just have to tune in and see which I perform."
"You recently spoke of how you plan to release a new single after Metamorph. Any time frame of when that will happen?" Azealia responded to this by saying "Well like I mentioned earlier, it's all situational. I could release a new single next week if I wanted to. I could release it in two weeks. It all depends on the situation surrounding me. This is a business. This is my JOB. i plan to deliver good music, whether successful or not. However, I have to make money. That's what these single are for, in essence. I will release a new single once I feel Metamorph is done with. That's the standard answer I'm giving you. That's the standard answer you'd get from any musical artist out there. Life is situational. The music industry is DEFINITELY situational. Right now, I don't plan to release a new single until I release my album. That's that." Azealia was then asked about the success and competition out there, "There will always be competition. No matter what. Whether I'm #2 or #3, I deserved that position. Competition is what makes this industry fun to be in. If it weren't for competition, where would we be? This world would be boring without competition and I think some need to realize that."
After the lengthy interview, Azealia gave an in studio performance of Metamorph as they had a pianist come in to play the chords. The phones blew up during this performance of Metamorph, all claiming that Azealia's voice was magical and requesting the song to be played again on the station. With the interview being such a success, Metamorph continued to sell high on iTunes. With such a good week ahead of her, Azealia can only look up at this point. The interview was put on YouTube and be sure to buy Metamorph on iTunes today.

Cher Lloyd is back in da business with new single "Get High"
A modern day Whitney Houston, Cher Lloyd has graced the pop music field by droppin a hot new track on da radio. The song is called "Get High" and let us break it down first, it's hot, total bop, with a hot beat, catchy lyrics, and vocals that were meant for gods.
When Cher was asked if this is her lead single (ryan asked ha this) she said, yes, I guess, depends on my & my labels mood. Because as you know I used to be with EPIC, not so epic I would say, I ahd so much material, but never got to releae anything, and now I'm out and with better label, I'm really coming for blood, I hope that this song is my new want u back, and that people will finally notice me on the streets, cause atm my life is a blur, just a typical life, like anyother life.
The song was written by Cher Lloyd, Mike Will, and many other important people, Cher was to lazy to name them. It was produced by Mike Will (the guy behind we can't stop, and more) it is a hot pop track, with some rap elements, cause Cher is a good rapper, she got that swagger jagger, and she can rock it too. BUY IT IN STORES now, while you still can, because who knows Cher might end up deleting it.

Taylor Swift on Schlag Den Raab
Taylor Swift’s brand new single ‘Style’ has taken off in a big way since it’s release yesterday. Already the song has become one of the top selling songs around the world on iTunes, topping the singles iTunes charts in over 45 countries. Since it’s not a brand new release but just a single from a previous album, the impact has been a little less that it’d be if she’d released a brand new single but already the song seems to be performing on par with Swift’s contemporaries who’ve already released brand new singles. With competition fueling and Swift embarking on a massive promotion campaign for her brand new era for her very first Greatest Hits album, Yours: The Greatest Hits, it seems to be that miss Taylor Alison is ready to face the competition with a smile.
Taylor Swift was live on Schlag Den Raab, a German television show today, where she gave a very brief interview before heading backstage to get changed for her first ever live performance in Europe of ‘Style’. After filming performances yesterday of ‘Style’ to be aired in the United States on television shows, Swift flew out to Europe to do some promotion across various countries there before heading to Asia to do some promotional slots there as well. Swift’s vocals were great although it seemed that Taylor was suffering from a little bit of jet lag, her voice a little hoarse on the chorus. Although the choruses appeared to be a little rough, the rasp given made her high notes or belts on the bridge sound very sensual and sexy.
When asked about her Greatest Hits album, Swift was all smiles, going into depth about it. “A Greatest Hits album was something I said a few years ago I would never do so now I kind of have to own up to the fact that I said that. Because guess who’s releasing a Greatest Hits album next week? Me. People think it was my label who forced me to release one but in reality it was all my idea. They wanted me to release the album I’d been working on for the past few months but I felt as if it really wasn’t ready. I needed more time before getting back out there performing new material. I wanted to take a minute and really reflect back on what I’d released so far. I wanted to give these fans a few more moments with the material I’ve released before I really take on the change, before we really take on the change together of the next album I’m releasing soon. So with that I gave them a few new songs, along with some very special and private performances. There’s also a very special treat coming in an exclusive version of the 2015 edition of it.”
When asked about some of her favorite music that’s currently being released, Swift gushed of course over friend Justin Bieber. “Justin’s always killing it, releasing music that makes me so proud of him. Something we both have in common is wanting to top everything we released before. We want to make each album better than the last, we want to make our fans happy, we want everyone to see the growth we’ve had since our start. I think he does it well and I think I do too. But other than him, some other artists I’m really enjoying is the lovely Azealia Banks. We’ve had a rough spot in the past before but I really love how outspoken she is, how she really stands up for something she believes in, how remarkably talented and gifted she is too. She’s a true superstar and I think she has a really long and successful career ahead of her. Definitely, I think the top female rapper out there right now. Everyone else needs to take note.” Taylor Swift also commented on Celine, who was mentioned by the interview. “I absolutely love Celine. She does not give a damn about anything and I absolutely love that. I do have a few songs of hers, I admit, but it’s on another phone of mine. My mother kind of has the password to my iTunes account believe it or not and I’m pretty sure she tracks my purchases so if she were to see me buying “PU$$Y BE FLAMIN’” she’d probably murder me.”
Swift also showed major support for friends and models Cara Delevigne and Adrianna Lima. “I’m so proud of both of them. They really are stepping out of their comfort zone to release music that I think is absolutely incredible and unexpected from them. Usually, people have a very negative outlook on models who try to do other things outside of modeling. Like I’ve seen models who branched out into the acting world and got ripped apart. I think they took note of that and have made the perfect transition with the perfect material for it. I can sort relate to that as that’s sort of how I decided to branch out into film.”
Swift’s Greatest Hits album is due out next week on iTunes and in stores at Target. Make sure to get a copy of ‘Style’ now.
