There's probably a LOT I could say about this, given my family's history with mental illness...but I will say two things:
1) There's no really wrong argument in terms of how someone views Sinead's comments to Miley. I feel as if there's a good argument that could be made from either side.
2) Regardless of your opinion on Sinead's comments, Miley picked the absolute WORST type of response to use. She could have responded in countless other ways that would have been more respectful and less offensive. I cannot believe there are people who are defending that comment or acting like she had to respond that rudely, given what she was responding to. She openly turned Sinead O'Connor's mental illness into an opportunity for a joke, an opportunity to rip someone. She even brought in a third party with known mental issues as part of the joke. There is NOTHING about that statement that can be defended.
Do you people who replied with the clapping emoticon REALLY believe Miley should have answered like this? That was so rude and offensive and Sinear was just expressing concern.
Seriously, I liked Miley's album but the whole attitude and the rudeness is SUCH a turn off. No wonder she's losing fans like that. I'm not going to say I miss the old Miley but I don't like the new one either.

If you're patting Miley on the back for this, your perspective is "naive". One mental illness isn't something to be mocked. Two Sinead ripping that photo was about awareness of Catholic Pope pedophilia which is a BIG deal even today.

That wouldn't even be an issue. If my fave tweeted and said things like this, she would not be my fave any longer. There is sassy and witty, and then there is this.
I'm a miley Stan and I don't condone these comments at all. I've been waiting for her to apologize but it hurts me that she doesn't seem like she'll give one. I grew up listening to her but I won't support comments like that.
Is that even possible for her to take legal action from a social networking site?
