Plenty of movies have the battles, futuristic flying crafts and explosive action you find in Mockingjay Part 2. But no other adventure series has the immense talents of J-Law

Thankfully, Jennifer Lawrence is predictably superb. At this point, you wouldn’t expect any less. The Oscar-winner once again imbues Katniss with an utterly convincing steeliness that’s offset by a subtly played vulnerability. It’s this performance that has been such a key hook for the series as a whole, and never more so than here.

MJ Part 1 was too slow and boring and not this one is too dark for some of them
The review from EW even implied they wish it was more soft YA vibe like Twilight instead of going too hard on the war stuff

But still, the praises are pouring in and the word of mouth will be good!
I love the fact that most critics are mentioning how amazing it is to have a final chapter so dark and "depressing" showing the reality behind a war!
It's complicated and they made it complex enough to the point it's depressing, entertaining and real at the same time.

I think the general criticisms about the pace aren't exactly about this movie specifically, The Guardian article was just lamenting about the trend of splitting books into multiple films and how its nearly always a money making scheme rather than about the story its self, which I agree with.

The Guardian is at least 1 year late with the split hate excuse.

They gave MJ Part 2 a bad score saying they liked the movie but hated the decision to split and how unnecessary it was and bla bla bla. Everything they criticized, they used the split as the reason why.

MJ Part 1 got all the lashings for the split. It's time for them to move on now.

Mockingjay Part 1 was the best movie in the series so far.

OMG at 100% on RT I was so happy (and shocked) when I saw that earlier.
Now it's down to 92% due to some flop review but that's still amazing. I'll be so slayed if it ends up being the one with the highest score of the franchise. This is also great because this should increase the "floppy" () opening week numbers that were projected as gorls that make decisions based on critics will be convinced to get tickets. Well, at least assuming the score stays high, though I think it can at least stay above the first film.
