They were still credited, so I think it should count as that.
Even Wiki and other sites count Selena's solo career + her stuff with The Scene separately.
I think that whoever sent that in was actually smart to do that.. because obviously nobody uses The Scene so nobody is gonna make a Base, causing them to easily send in a nice Sel song that'll get them high on tha list.
