i do think they'd be good together. they're both very pop now with singer-songwriter/acoustic routes. i think they have a lot of similarities, even (maybe not him with OneRepublic, but she couldn't do anything like their music anyway). he could bring out something really great in her tbh that's the problem with her. she needs someone to tell her her ideas are **** or at least aren't good enough. also, she needs someone who knows when a song isn't good. like, did katy and dr. luke really think Birthday and IS were good?

If Benny and Stargate give their best to Katy, which they should, it'd be amazing. A lyrically-stronger This Moment would be a great lead single to move into her mature era. That kind of sound, like This Moment, or Diamonds (Rih) is what could work. It's mature but it's still pop and upbeat and catchy. And she could show off her vocals. |
i agree. katy's problem isn't the production. i think even her worst producer Dr Luke provides at worst "good" productsion, even if they're generic. other than that, the back half of Prism has great production (Ghost, LM, TM, DR to be exact) with **** lyrics. her lyrics are so, so bad. THAT'S what she needs to work on. hate to say it, but take a note out of taylor's book: something more personal, direct, specific, less cliched/cartoony/stupid metaphors. just mature, honest, genuine, and emotional music, and that would be great. more TOY, Lost, ISB, TD, CTD (better production), TOTGA, WA, Spiritual, ITT, CYB. she could make a great pop album if she just put in the effort. but that's a HUGE

And back during the TD days they were all like "If Benny doesn't like it, America won't like it" and she needs someone who can push her to her best.
