I agree with you 100%, and I know Madonna would as well. just not in this situation because of the good working relationship the whole team, MIA, nicki, and everyone had with the NFL. it was just supposed to be a big celebration for everyone. the atmosphere was fantastic, and everyone treated each other like family. the NFL asked M, for once, to just give a celebration and she gave them that promise. for one time to just be political-free and celebrate the beauty of music, sports.. families coming together.. you have to keep in mind that it was a family show, not MTV. it was supposed to be a happy event. and MIA sort of broke that promise. that's why M wasn't happy about it and I could see her point. But I can assure you that having said that, Madonna fully agrees with MIA's statement, just not at that time and place. They're also still friends and talk fondly of each other, which is a good thing and shows that in private, they talked it through.

and I think MIA also points this out as well: why do we care so much about a finger while ignoring actual problems in the world?
