Correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember Glee being at number one and the original being number 11...and then after the superbowl commercial, it went back up to number 11, then it entered the top ten and shot straight up to number one. :-/

Glee isn't as popular now anyway. This is the first time none of the songs of the PREMIERE reached the Top 10.

It wasn't fueled by a high profile appearance. It basically snuck in after Kanye fell, and Taylor wasn't too far behind, so she was easily able to catch up. Something that tends to happen when you're the number one song in the country, in terms of combined sales and airplay exposure. Psy doesn't have that luxury yet.
