Heard Nicki on Jefree Stars remix, and loved her! Checked out for her music, heard Itty Bitty Piggy. Loved it. Went hard, so since then I've been here for Nicki Nick.

Kept hearing about her. Heard Itty Bitty Piggy; hated it. Thought she looked ghetto and wasn't used to her rapping style but something kept my interest. Also, Kim was my favorite rapper (and had been for a long time), and I saw the similarities so I didn't know exactly what to think.
Watched Massive Attack and realized she had a shitload of potential, and she was gorgeous when she cleaned up. So I was pretty much the bystander fan. And this was around the time she was really on that featuring hustle and she continuously gained my admiration with Bottoms Up, 5 Star Chick, Hello Good Morning, Shakin' It For Daddy, and Little Freak. Those were my favorites. And then came along the Monster verse. That pretty much solidified my being able to openly say that I liked her and considered myself a fan.
Going back on the Kim part: Kim disappointed the hell out of me during the "beef." I admire, understoond, and respected the way Nicki went about it. I was being held by a string on Kim's part with the beef and everything with her latest music, and it was kinda weird how drastically everything changed from being a long time Kim fan to pretty much having to drop her and become a Nicki fan. I don't regret it. Nope.
Anyway, it all comes down to admiration and respect for Nicki for me. The respect gained from how she handled up above ^ and watching countless interviews and just being able to understand where she's coming from and I just admired her mentality about things (most things). She pisses me off from time to time with her decisions, but I love her to death now, I really do. Plus we both are absolutely in love with pink But I'm just gonna need her to step it up lyrically before I go FULL ON STAN for her.

The next album I need Nicki to go on full Mc Mode. I completely understand that Nicki doesn't want to make an album that has every song sounding the same; but I want her to start speaking for a generation and speaking for people who can't voice their feelings and journeys. Manifest herself as a voice for her fans and followers. Create songs that help people release their emotions and help them go through things. She can follow that objective without having every song sound the same. Nicki is becoming more and more iconic and has created her own lane. I appreciate her creativity and experimenting this era. Nicki needs to solidify herself as an Mc; i'm speaking on the lines of the following masterpieces: Still I Rise, Autobiography, Sweetest Girl, Save Me, Champion, M4L, I'm The Best, Catch Me, Here I Am, Dear Old Nicki, Marilyn Monroe, Fire Burns, Gun Shot, ******
Manifest herself to the level of a true Mc that can be undisputed and respected by all. Nobody can dispute good lyricism and lyrical stories that people can relate to.
If Nicki creates an album of this kind, she can have people fully view her as an MC/ artist.
I want something groundbreaking and moving for the public to come from this young lady from Queens.
She has a huge platform and stage with people looking at her, what good is all that attention without a true movement and impact and i'm not talking about chart performances and airplay, i'm talking about affecting millions and bringing the best out of millions. She has the potential to do that and more.
If she can mix all this with a couple of monster verses, it would be in heaven

To think we could possibly have this album in an hour... Not saying we will, but since we're in the 'leak zone' right now, it could be anytime from now.

I'm here for the pop Nicki!
Pound The Alarm, Whip It, Automatic and Beautiful Sinner.
All so very generic but amazing at the same time.
The rest hasn't impressed me so far.

It will last a long time. I don't expect another album before November 2013.
I expect her to fill up this spring, summer, fall and close out winter/spring of 2013 and then release another album in November/December to capitalize on sales...

My personal journey with Nicki Minaj:
In the summer of 2010, I heard bits of pieces of Your Love a couple of times, and found it repetitive and annoying. Then, in September, I saw that she had a new song out with will.i.am. I'm not a huge Black Eyed Peas fan, but I decided to check it out. I listened to the full song, and I didn't like it. It was just too explicit for me, and I forgot about Nicki for the next month or so.
Then, I saw the music video for the clean version on MTV and I LOVED it. I thought it was the catchiest thing ever. I went and downloaded the clean version from Youtube, and saw she had another song out called Right Thru Me, which I also downloaded.
A couple of days later, I saw that she had another new song out with Eminem called Roman's Revenge. I listened to it once and was simply horrified. I thought to myself: Well, at least I still have CIO and RTM, even if the rest of the album is way too hardcore for me.
Then, I listened to the snippets for Pink Friday and I was FLOORED. I listened to those snippets over and over again, and went back and downloaded tons of her features.
I bought the clean version of Pink Friday on November 22 and I loved all of the songs except RR and DIOE.
Meanwhile, I was hearing rumblings of a song called Monster, on which Nicki apparently "proved herself" and "stole the spotlight from Jay-Z and Kanye." I downloaded the clean version of that and slowly warmed up to it. This allowed me to truly appreciate the epicness of DIOE and ESPECIALLY Roman's Revenge, which is one of my all time favorite Nicki songs now. I converted dozens of people at school into Nicki stans.
For the rest of 2011, I followed Nicki closely and downloaded every song she was in. I got Twitter just so I could follow her (and Kesha).
Then, Roman In Moscow came out. I liked it, but I said to myself: This better be the ONLY song like this on the new album...
Then Stupid Hoe came out. I kinda liked it but...
Then the Grammy's performance happened. I loved the song, but hated the performance. I was thisclose to writing off Nicki forever, as I had done with Rihanna when she went through her dark "Rated R" phase. An artist's personality is very important to me. For example, I still like Rihanna's music but I could never respect her as a person.
28 hours later, Starships came out. I forgave Nicki instantly and began stanning harder than ever.
I haven't listened to Right By My Side, Beez In The Trap, or the snippets, and I don't plan to. April 3 is gonna be HUGE for me. I've never been as excited for an album as I am for this one, and I've never liked or respected an artist as much as I do Nicki.
Sorry for the long post, I just felt like I had to get this all out!
|
Child, let it out...no judgment. Good timing as her fanbase is in the state of love right now.
I hope you get to see her in concert. I'm paying whatever amount to get to see her.

Powerhouse: Versatility/Business savvy
Weakness: I dont give a...attitude
Improve: making pop songs with a little twist of edge
Genre: I honestly don't want her to go left I want her to expand and continue to improve on her blueprint
Hip hop/Pop/Dance/R&B...take this formula to the next level every era.
