So everytime a "shark" bites her she gets sharper. I'd make it out to be as more feisty and fighting ready.

I still really don't think so. But I see where you're going.

I came flocking back straight away. After hearing Applause I decided to never stop stanning for Gaga again. Applause is still one of my favs

December would actually be a great time to release a single. She could announce it after an AHS episode, then perform at Grammy Nominations, BBC Music Awards (uk), NRJ Music Awards (fr), X Factor UK + The Voice US finale, NYC New Years, a Jingle Ball, etc etc - the list goes on.
My understanding is that the one of two large factors contributing to the radio freeze is that the industry essentially takes two weeks off - so whilst christmas programming once caused the freeze, it's now more caused by the fact that no one notable releases in this time - so both factors kind of chase each other round in a circle. If Gags + her team actively fight this and promo, she could have a breaking hit on her hands.

I wouldn't read too much into "jazzpunk". It's just referring to her being "punk" during this jazz era. I would, however, pay attention to her fashion since she is clearly testing the waters and figuring out what she wants to do next era.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but part of me is hoping that Gaga plays the game commercially this time around. Not the way Katy did during Teenage Dream though. That obviously worked great, but it was so obviously a commercial tactic, which makes it almost embarrassing in my opinion. No, I'd prefer her to do it in a way that will benefit her commercially but also fit in with the song in question thematically and seem like a natural release rather than a forced one just to boost the song's sales or chart peak. A good example of both of these instances is Do What U Want, which received a remix that fits in both categories. On the one hand, you have the Rick Ross remix. He doesn't really add anything thematically or fit in with the song (from my understanding at least), so that particular remix comes off as nothing but a commercial ploy. On the other hand, the Christina remix seemed more natural because they both dealt with the troubles the song discusses. Both are women who were criticized for their weight at one time or another, both have been compared to each other in style and song, and both were somewhat pitted against each other at one time. Because of this, their duet and remix release was very much warranted and even wanted by many fans.
I guess what I'm trying to say that it would be great for the fans and for her stats if she could maybe once in a while release a remix that actually makes sense thematically or subject wise, at a prime release time. Maybe release a remix she performed on some award show immediately after it ends, or release a duet remix of a song she just performed live as a duet with another artist right after the performance airs. I think something like that could be a win-win for everyone without seeming or being too try hard and obviously chart oriented.

Jump ship now, sis. She doesn't need to do anything for her stats as she is already one of the highest-selling, grossing, and award-winning artists of all time. She's earned her right to do whatever. If she tries to go commercial like she did with ARTPOP, she'll be met with the same fate. (Though I don't doubt the era organization-wise will be on point.)

I would never. I love her music too much now, and have invested too much time into it.
Even if in some second world I did start disliking her and the music, I would just move on and call it a day. Attacking, turning into a hater, and pretending you weren't a fan is so tacky.

Remember when Gaga didn't have a backing track for any of her songs (for some reason?) so she used to just sing along with the album versions

The challenge is to release early enough that you're on rotation ahead of the freeze, get played sporadically during the freeze amongst the festive music and year countdowns, and ensure that you're song still has momentum when they get to January and want new music to fill airtime. Plus, you ideally want the song to be party friendly for all the events happening.
It's up in the air whether right now Gaga will benefit most from a soft launch or a big kick off. i.e. the difference between releasing the lead over December or debuting at the Grammys. If it's a significant evolution of look and sound, it'd be most impactful as a big statement. If the sound isn't changing enough to be a talking point within itself, then I'd say a soft-launch is more appropriate. Let it grow - both organically and through promotion til they (hopefully) have a hit and Gaga is back. Then use the Grammys/Brits to build.

She looked so much like Tragic Kingdom-era Gwen Stefani in her Instagram posts last night.
Is anyone else just so excited to hear new fresh music from her? I feel like this album will just exude happiness in her voice and just feel like she's enjoying making music again. I don't mean that'll be a 'happy' album nessacarily, but just that she'll sound full of energy - like she does on Cheek to Cheek. Not all the songs are positive, but she sounds so glad to be singing them.
Hurry up Gaga.

Since I think the song will be more aimed at a more organic, adult contemporary sound, I think a soft launch is perfect. If it's not a song like Applause or Bad Romance, that's a talking point within itself and tht stripped back sound is perfect for December - March time. An early December release would be perfect because AHS will just be reaching it's winter break and she'll be on TV a lot and have a lot of promotional opportunities. Ideally the song will build momentum, which, when backed up in January with a radio deal followed by a Grammy and BRIT performance, could end up with a big hit.
I know it sounds like a bad idea, but the old strategy of putting out the video and sending to radio first, with a pre-order on iTunes and the song being released maybe a month later, could work great for her. But I'm getting ahead of myself.

I desperately want Till it Happens to You, it's my favorite ballad.
What happened to that? And to the McCartney song?
