Well, we call the term of that kind of singing "knödeln", I think it's called in English oversinging.
And the era started so good with the I-tunes festival.

Vor allem in den 1950er und 1960er Jahren entsprach das „Knödeln“ dem Ideal der Gesangsstimme, das auch im professionellen Bereich unabhängig von den physischen Gegebenheiten gelehrt wurde. Heute ist dieses Phänomen ganz besonders bei nicht geschulten Laien erkennbar, wenn diese versuchen, klassisch („opernhaft“) zu singen
no but seriously the whole "these girls are giving us horrible music i want Rihanna back" thing is stupid, sure she gives you a good lead single and a few other bops but the album will be full of filler and the era will be rushed.
The only filler album is TTT but that barely has fillers.... But Rihanna her 15 minute eras are better than the current gurls ...
What I don't get is she obviously reads forums like this and knows exactly what people think of her when she pulls **** like this. I feel like every ugly look she wears now is done out of spite or something.
It's becoming clear that Brintey Jean will be the best pop album of 2013. Prism has no replay value and ARTPOP has 4 or 5 great songs.

Thats the good thing about Britney. She always delivers musically. Even when her songs aren't exactly "radio friendly" (slave, work bitch). She may not have the best chart performance but even underperforming tracks like Slave are way more classic than the other girls discography.
What is destroying Gaga for me this era is the bad performances. If she can't perform anymore I just can't use. That was one of the only important things she had over the bad pop stars and she is becoming a histrionic over singer on television, not just at the embarrassing Balls.
