Empowerment:
Speezy

Good, but what a boring pick...

Anthem for a generation. Totally empowering; a beautiful showcase of rising above without fear. It's pretty much one of the most empowering songs of all time. However, it was a really obvious choice, and for that I'm deducting some points.

For the kii's & originality.

Interesting choice! I'm getting some serious power bottom anthem realness. It kinda took me a while to figure out where empowerment came into the song, but it eventually clicked. Overall it was pretty great; fresh beat and the verses were a unique twist on lyrics we'd usually only hear from female rappers. It's a nice change in pace for the hip-hop scene.

Love the song, but I don't see it.
posh -
Classic feminist anthem! Although the song itself is an unbearable, headache inducing mess- the lyrics fit the theme well.

Fits the theme ok, but lacks much imagination.

I was really hoping someone would choose this song! Brave speaks to not only this generation, but anyone and everyone who has ever second-guessed themselves or been afraid. It's an amazing anthem and one of the best songs released in a long time. VERY empowering, great choice!
Starships

Kind of a cool take on the theme.

Fantastic choice! Classic breakup anthem with some feminist attributes. Very empowering for anyone who's been in a bad relationship; especially for those who put having a relationship as a top priority in their life, which seems to be a lot of people.

I no longer wonder why she flopped

Kinda unexpected. Um, I can see how it can be empowering. However, I had a hard time hearing some of it. I probably wouldn't have chosen an unreleased live song if I were you; it makes it hard to properly judge. From what I heard it's kinda fun and empowering in the same vain as We R Who We R just.. not as good.

Fits the theme. Shame that the sound wasn't even good when EDM was big.
posh -
The production is good, but I feel like the lyrics are a bit generic. There's nothing empowering about it, really, just telling kids to not give a *beep* and party all they want. Not the most inspiring song ever.

BE A MAAAANNNNN! (I like to think he is talking to the gheys on ATRL)
posh -
Shang is being a bit abrasive, but still empowering. Honestly, as much as I love this song, it's not the most empowering song ever. It's pretty specific to the plot of the movie and isn't something I would necessarily listen to to get motivated or feel inspired.

Could they possibly put less emotion into it? I feel empowered to take a nap.
posh -
This isn't exactly the type of song I was expecting going into this, but I can see how it could be empowering. It doesn't doesn't speak to the audience; most of the song is them bragging about their own accomplishments and not really promoting the listener to achieve anything. dat beat doe.

Great song.

Beautiful song! Christina does a wonderful job conveying the message of empowerment through her strong and emotional vocals. It's simple, but uplifting and encouraging.
