Adult Contemporary and Adult Pop are two different genres and formats.
Adult Contemporary:" Is ballad-heavy music of the present day, with varying degrees of easy listening, soul, rhythm and blues, and rock influence.Adult contemporary is rather a continuation of the easy listening and soft rock style that became popular in the 1960s and 1970s with some adjustments that reflect the evolution of pop/rock music"
Adult Pop: "It is a format in which the genre is geared more towards an adult audience who are not into hard rock, teen pop, dance, hip hop, or adult contemporary fare. The main genres within this format are alternative rock and mainstream pop that is more adult-oriented. It is not to be confused with adult contemporary where rather lesser-known and more ballad-driven songs are played."
