I don't consider having a single played on the radio anything special. If anything that makes then wanna go buy the single, not the album.

FALSE! Some ppl didnt like OG and WMN? they didnt buy the album, but when the hear S&M, and if they like it, they will be like oh, hmm, that's a good song, let me go buy the album, I'm curious to see whats on there!

How I know this? I've done it before, I didnt buy Lady Gaga's FAME till after I heard Love Game. Just dance and Poker Face didn't make me wanna buy the album, but after hearing Love Game, I wanted the album.

Singles = PROMO for the album, hence why the best (commerical songs) are released.

I'm not saying that ppl when they hear S&M wont buy the single, no, but they will have more temptation to wanna get the album as well!

There you go again, assuming. If thats not the case, lets not talk opinion, lets talk facts.

RATED R: 1st single Russian Roulette, the album started off pretty good, but began to slow down after x-mas season.

2nd Single: Hard, kept the album at a modest pace.

3rd Single: RUDE BOY! this saved the album, commerically, people went out and bought RATED R and the SINGLE. IF you noticed RATED R averaged some great numbers while Rude Boy was at a peak!

LOUD:

1st single: OG, LOUD starts out amazing, and keeps it flowing very well

2nd single: WMN? Loud continues to stay in and out the Top 10, and shifting some great numbers

3rd single: S&M- with LOUD averaging 25k a week, I think S&M will boost it up, maybe 35-55k? Who Knows?

If singles didnt help the album, why have an album, just release songs, and let them sell.
