They didn't really cancel, they filmed 2 more seasons. After a decade there was no other storylines left to do, and if they kept going it would've just fell more and lost more viewers.
But yeah, this season I just gave up. Everything is a Tyler Perry sized joke, the Melanie/Dirwin rip-off is just too washed out, and they really do the same 5 storylines.
