AVRIL LAVIGNE to perform on The 2008 JUNO
Avril Lavigne and Measha Brueggergosman Set to Perform on The 2008 JUNO Awards, Sunday, April 6 on CTV
TORONTO, Feb. 4 /CNW/ - Canada's pop princess meets opera sensation. On
the eve of tomorrow's JUNO Award Nominees Press Conference, CTV and the
Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) announced today that
multiple JUNO Award-winner Avril Lavigne and opera superstar Measha
Brueggergosman are the latest artists slated to perform on The 2008 JUNO
Awards broadcast on CTV, Sunday, April 6 from Calgary's Pengrowth Saddledome.
These newest additions to the performance lineup for The 2008 JUNO Awards
broadcast come just one day before CARAS and CTV name this year's nominees
vying for Canada's Music Awards, along with a special announcement of the 2008
Canadian Music Hall of Fame recipient and the unveiling of the Host for The
2008 JUNO Awards broadcast on CTV. A portion of the media conference, to be
held at The Fairmont Royal York hotel in Toronto on Tuesday, February 5, will
be broadcast live on Canada AM on CTV and CTV Newsnet, on the CTV Broadband
Network at CTV.ca and in a 30-minute special on Star! beginning at 8:30 a.m.
ET.
The two artists join previously announced acts for the CTV broadcast,
including Feist, Finger Eleven and Michael Bublé. Additional acts continue to
be announced with the next announcement at tomorrow's press conference.
About Avril Lavigne
Avril Lavigne rocketed straight to superstardom, at just 17 years old,
when she released her debut album, Let Go, in 2002. No.1 hit singles
"Complicated," "Sk8ter Boi" and "I'm With You" helped the album sell more than
16 million copies worldwide, garnering eight Grammy nominations and four JUNO
Awards (including Album of the Year and New Artist of the Year). Her follow
up, Under My Skin (2004), entered U.S., Canadian, and U.K. charts at No. 1,
and collected three more JUNO Awards along the way. Avril's most recent album,
The Best Damn Thing, is considered her best yet. She was involved in every
aspect of the album's production from writing to recording. The lead single,
"Girlfriend," instantly became an international anthem spawning versions in
Italian, Spanish, Mandarin and Japanese, to name a few.
__
Let's hope she got a lot of nominations this year, she always ruled these canadian grammys.

I don't care about this since it's not officially 4th single. Just 1 station play it so it couldn't go higher !
I really think Angelo should change the title ! Sorry, i don't want to be rude but you gave us a wrong infomation . Change to "She Got 5 Juno Nominees" or something plz

She is barely played anymore. She should release a new album with a new sound. Go R&B or something.

Yeah, no one knows for sure what will be the next single... But it's probably between Runaway and Innocence, with The Best Damn Thing being a distant 3rd.
