I don't get why RCA didn't want this released. They probably wanted a very electro-driven TBDT record to fit in with the pop radio norm. Imagine if Ke$ha even dares to step into different genre territory.

You can only tell so much from previews, but these are great. I really think this is going to be a very good era for Avril. I just RCA supports her... It has a lot of potential, and a lot of people who were done with her after TBDT can totally come back to liking her again. This is so Let Go! Loving it.
I'm kind of glad they waited until now, because this album is FLAAAWWWLEEESSSS from what we've heard. What do you think the lead single was going to be before WTH?
I have a very STRONG feeling Avril is going to change the music industry AGAIN. Right now the music industry is full of electropop, first it was somethin Britney (and other artists) brought back in 2007, then it became a huge trend. Although I love Britney and all of the current electro genre music, I think its time for a change. Basically all of the hottest and more commercial artists out there just offer club bangers. I think detouring to another genre is a must, for me at least. I wonder if Avril is going to start a new trend....im guessing....HELL YEAH!
I think better lead single would of been Smile if I'm honest. Because this album was officially finished in May 2010, and Smile, WTH, WYWH and I Love You were all written in May. So any of those 4 could of been the lead single!

If there could be a happy marriage of Avril-esque music and electropop on the charts I would just
But apparently it only goes one way or the other, and I'm sad to say that only Avril makes Avril's genre work. So let's have her be unique, yes?

Nah, instead of trying to start a new trend, RCA chickened out and released WTH. Too late to start a new trend. She'd be a hypocrite if she started trying to change electro-pop after releasing an electro-pop single!

I agree. RCA was VERY scared to introduce a different genre to the music industry. Avril always had a good intuition with writing good music and selling it. Dont really get why RCA doubted her vision and intuition. In order for her to start a new trend, I think she needed something like What the Hell to set her departure from rock & pop (for now). I do believe What the Hell was closure Avril needed to start a new era. This song combined elements from Avril's past work and her current work (like a Girlfriend meets Sk8er Boi). She left the blonde Girlfriend chick behind, but still has her pink highlights to remember her.
My thoughts exactly. If she came back with something that sounded like her old work, it wouldn't have charted. WTH was a breakout single.

something that really gave me goosebumps and got me REALLY excited was how different elements from my favorite Avril songs where included in this album. I saw elements from Im With You, Anything But Ordinary, Nobodys Home, Fall To Pieces, When You're Gone, Innocence, Keep Holding On, and How does it Feel
I just preordered the standard edition on iTunes. Hopefully this is good... I have never bought an Avril CD before but the previews for this are very promising.
