Obviously I'd prefer she sing something mature and amazing, but tbh I don't use Katy for her depth and maturity (that being said I do ADORE the 2nd half of Prism, but even that is quite light and fluffy - which is good), but I really do want her to smash. She is the singer that
should smash on the radio. She's beautiful, has a unique voice, has already been on top many times and deserves another good run before sexism and ageism claims her.
I truly believe now that Madonna has done it, many more artists will be accepted into their 50s but I really think it's gonna be a few years yet before anyone lets a 60+ year old woman come anywhere near the charts. Not Madonna, not Katy, not Adele - no one. The world is too beauty obsessed, but who knows - maybe one of these current bitches can make it.
