@Blackbeat i'm not entirely sure but i've read an article that she held the record for the number of seats on the Tele2 arena, it was a swedish article though. I don't trust this number

slay Maddox!
but yeah it was all sold out that's just a stupid pollstar stat and yeah she broje the record for biggest seated audience in sweden!
DAMN @ Adele being responsible for like 99% of the earnings for Beggars!
but they really aren't in it for the money, they're an indie label and i guess Adele got too commercial so i'm sure they both decided this way...
but yeah i'm in denial aswell, i wanted her to stay, it's healthy for her to be on small, independent label and she's really benefitted from it

Maybe I'm stupid and idk how this works, but are we sure that the Sony deal means that all ties with XL will be broken? Also, will she remain in Columbia Records? I would think so since they're under Sony.
What if Adele is planning her own record company to be under? She already has a company, Melted Stone, no?

HDD was reporting her as being under Columbia in the US, said the UK had yet to be revealed.

If she's going to stay with Columbia, they've gotta up their game. Pretty sure they handled most of the promotion for the album in the US and they f**ked it up royally. I remember them making a statement that the Strobe remixes of "When We Were Young" were miles better than the original, and then that tragic ass interview where they tried to justify letting it flop.
XL did a great job promoting Adele and I think that's one of the reasons 21 in particular was so successful. I remember the whole "21 Days of Adele" promotional campaign leading up to the album being PRAISED. I love her relationship with XL and I don't want her to leave them. The only thing that is good about this is the fact that she may be obligated to put out music faster. And I guess it makes sense because, as previously stated, she's probably too commercial for them now. She's obviously their top priority (as she should be), but that's also not fair to the other artists on the label, so it was probably a mutual thing.

Everything through February (and the tour ofc) have been going/went well imo, but yeah XL's stuff, albeit less, seemed cleaner and more personal. Columbia's 1 of 25 sessions and general "lottery" process for RCMH were a total mess early on, but honestly the hype was just blinding at that point so I guess it was hard to do it more logically than 'well we found 25 randos here in NYC, let's invite them'. The US promo for 21 was mostly Columbia, also. I think if she was pushing to make videos and release singles, they'd run more smoothly. But she tends to put all her effort into the lead, then just focuses on the album after that, so they're left to dick around with all the ones after that. I mean, SLY almost didn't even get a video until it was clear it was going #1 in the US and on its way to becoming one of the most iconic songs of all time.
I'll miss XL, too, though. Just a cool label with cool people...

Yeah, this is kind of how I feel. Columbia could be A LOT worse (I mean, it's not like she's signed to Epic or anything like that), but I just felt like XL handled a lot more of the promo for 21, and handled it better. But I agree completely with everything you're saying about the stuff they did at the beginning. It doesn't help that she has absolutely no desire to do videos or promo for her music, but Columbia definitely didn't push it this time around, that's for sure. I'm still really salty about how they handled everything with "When We Were Young," though. I know some of that was on her, but there were definitely some missed opportunities to promote it. "Send My Love" barely got any promotion because of the tour, but the promotion it did get probably wouldn't have happened if it weren't for the fact that it's extremely radio-friendly. Hopefully they'll do the same for "Water Under the Bridge" too, because I cannot bear to see it flop.

I think she's waiting to announce Water Under the Bridge as the next single later this month. It'll be great for her to release it while the tour is almost done. That meas she will probably be willing to promote it.

Okay, question... How are none of Adele's singles diamond? "Rolling in the Deep" is like, the best-selling female single of all-time. It beat out "Poker Face" for that title, and "Poker Face" is certified diamond. Is it just because her team hasn't actually gone to the effort of getting them certified because she thinks of herself as an album artist rather than a singles artist?

Pretty sure they haven't gotten the certification that it can actually get.

Probably. That's the case for Gaga, too. Her team is too lazy to update her certifications that should've been updated years ago.

Random thought, but in a perfect world, Adele performed IMY at the Grammys instead of AIA. With cool and dark imagery in the background it would've been glorious. IMY would've really been the only acceptable replacement for the WWWY performance.
If only we lived in a perfect world

Her turning away. Him keeping his hand in the same place and staying for more pics. His shoulder grab and directing of her movement. His flexing of fingers during shoulder grab and directing of her movement.
I've been pressed about it for 3 years.
