I just watched the midnight screening. After the movie has ended it even got a round of applause from the audience.

Its a great mixture of drama and action. It may not be in the level of DOFP when it comes to the drama or serious type which has complex or Oscar bait type of scenes where actors like Fassbender McAvoy Lawrence are throwing acting chops nor the kind of action scenes you get with X3 or MCU films that has more than enough time of action sequences



I must say the reviews are NONSENSE. I was expecting it to be BAD or even worse than X3. Turned out to be better than X1 X2 FC and to DOFP if you prefer less drama and more action


Only problem I got is the latter part the action sequences should be longer like the XMen vs Horsemen scenes. It is not that short but it is not that long too. Or maybe we were deprived of action scenes from the past XMen that the only way to satisfy is to get a very long action scenes just like the airport scene in Civil War which felt like it ran for 30 minutes.

The thing that made me say it is better than Cap America CW is that the it is not tiring bloated or stretched to watch. It keeps you want more. CW is more polished refined but if you look the idea the backbone it seems thin. The story or plot is thin. Really to be stretched that long is tiring. Ironman finding out that the one interviewing at the end is dead or replaced. The scenes also felt repetitive like the underpass and airport scene.

With XMen Apocalypse its opposite the story is larger and wider. Plot is definitely better tho the execution is not as polished or refined. There are many plots by the way. Many issues. It is not isolated or internal as Cap America.

So if you are eating at a buffet Cap America offerers an ALL MEAT favorite belly pleasers with infinite supply and you ate them all until you got bloated while XMen Apocalypse offered variety of food with just enough servings but not enough to make you have a sin of gluttony.

A lot going on my mind right now



But one thing is for sure IT IS THE BEST XMEN FILM


on par with DOFP or even better if you enjoy more action like me.

Better by a mile than X1 X2 FC


X3 is not worthy to be compared to this one

What do you expect? The fact is, the amount of reviews that are bagging on X-Men seemed to be heavily slanted by the aftereffects of Civil War. The overall fan reaction to the film is more in line with what the two ATRLers have posted.

The film's opening today in Sweden, but I'm not seeing it until tomorrow due to an exam. So excited, despite the reviews. I honestly think the film will be flawed but not as awful as some make it up to be.

The ticket sales here look quite tragic tho, it's not even near sold out which is what one can expect from massive blockbusters. I really don't hope so, but I think it'll disappoint financially.
And it sucks cause X-Men's my fave superhero franchise and I really want to see it continue.

The fact that every negative review tries to compare it to civil war as well and not its own stand alone movie. They basically went in wanting to hate it.

I woke up loving it even more but as many people said the movie has its problems. The first 2/3 of the movie is brilliant, then unfortunately it fizzles out and there are moments when it becomes pointless CGI extravaganza with questionable special effects and poor action. Another problem this movie has is the villain. Oscar Isaac not only got buried under a ton of prosthetics but also got nothing he could play with from the Kinberg's script. Very dull villain and a waste of a great actor, plus Magneto who's only a secondary villain steals the movie from someone whose name is in the title. Fortunately those are the only major problems in the movie. Stuff like Storm, Jubilee and a very illogical decision which Quicksilver makes at the end of the movie is mostly nitpicking that can be easily redeemed in the sequels. The pacing was great. New cast was really good. Even JLaw wasn't as bad as the trailers suggested. Jean ****ing Grey snatched me so hard. Wolverine feels a bit shoehorned but it's not as bad as Wonder Woman learning about Justice League via email. Quicksilver was amazing. Fassbender is obviously the greatest actor in the entire cast. All of his scenes were so fantastic, it didn't feel like a superhero movie at all. McAvoy is annoying to watch. Overall the movie has a perfect mix of drama and humour and I wish they'd given more thought to action sequences. To me it is slightly below the First Class and I'd give it 8/10. A must see.

By the way, there was one angel scene that was so disgusting. I couldn’t believe that some of the stuff they showed was pg13.

Not them putting Only The Strong Will Survive on the poster and almost nobody dies the marketing for this movie has been tragic
