Rihanna doesn't have a powerful voice, but she made "We Found Love" convincing. "We Found Love" >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> "Break Free" (the trash you all kept hyping this year)
I think I love songs like "Sweet Nothing," "Rather Be" and "Clarity" so much because the bitches behind them know how to SANG. What's a dance song with a bland non-singer?
BOSTON GLOBE: Swedish singer-songwriter Tove Lo follows that breakout hit "Habits" with this seemingly autobiographical, highly addictive debut. There’s no denying the thrills of the appropriately titled “Timebomb,” hooky, hormone-raging “My Gun,” and feral “Talking Body,” which evokes the rush of early Madonna. “Thousand Miles” pulsates with nostalgic yearning, and a blast of neo-disco, “Run on Love,” closes things on a blissful high.
It’s easy to run a track-by-track review of this album because it’s ordered perfectly and tells a story in it’s order. Listening to it once or twice straight through is worth it to get the entire story. “Habits” may be the lead single, but any other track could easily have taken its place and still had the same effect. For now, it’s time to add Tove Lo to the list of pop singers to know.
When I first heard ARTPOP I thought it was so noisy and tryhard then I quickly realised its the third best pop album of all time after Stripped and Unapologetic
Now I like Out of the Woods. It's pretty great. This is my 5th song that I enjoy from Taylor after Back to December, All Too Well, You Belong With Me and I Knew You Were Trouble
Artpop is probably my favourite Gaga album actually. Musically it is better than her other ones and its lasted a lot longer too. I can still listen to it.
I just have more fond memories of the BTW era and TFM era. I skipped school for the Alejandro video premiere and the BTW single premiere. I was severely disappointed by both but still...!
