I wasn't even referring to the visuals of Wildest dream and Bad blood which take from Lucky and Toxic/Womanizer, respectively.
Ironically, I'm not referring to the Oops singles but album tracks that some of her songs sound similar to + 80s pop and avril esque teas every now and again
Same director, similar style and technique.
That's hardly Britney's influence when it's Joseph Kahn pulling it all together.
1989 is not Britney inspired, stop trying to talk things into existence.
God, thanks guys (especially ezra) for reminding me of those rooftop songs. Forgot how it felt like being pushed.
Yes.
Mariah really did lay a blueprint down.
the versatility of middle of the road pop, r&b soulful pop, hip POP, gospel and even touched on rock pop a few times.
Butterfly, Glitter and Mariah carey remain the trinity.
Emancipation of Mimi comes in at 4.

You try to use logic as if you are actually achieving it with your response .
Same director doesn't equal same style and technique. we can look at any director and see the differences between products they've made for different artists.
And if you don't know Oops the album. fine. I do and I here it.
I love the bridge in Perfect Illusion. I was underwhelmed by the song on first listen until I heard "where are you cuz I can't see". I immediately thought of her song Monster (for some reason). I'm glad the song is doing great on the iTunes chart! Nobody expected much from Lady after her previous era, and she is in a very humble and creative place right now; the last thing she needs is to obsess about something as frivolous as a number. She tried that last time and gave us her worst album.
She understands reinvention well. It's always the artists who put their vision before the charts that leave tremendous legacies behind. If she continued making The Fame Monster 2.0, 3.0 and 4.0 I would be very bored with her. Perfect Illusion isn't her best (it's a great song to listen to while sitting on my rooftop, white wine in hand and braless nonetheless) but I respect her ability to say "**** it" and do whatever she wants. Great woman!
