I used to always ponder this.

She took LGBTQ culture ( well only really concentrating on same sex male queerness and ignoring Trans, Lesbians etc) and put it into her work (Born This Way).

She had fun with it, gave like one speech on gay rights. Made a lot of money off of it. Gaga didn't have to deal with the repercussions and discrimination the LGBTA community has to face on a daily basis. She merely exploited a small part of the community for a career advantage.

This ultimately backfired though.
