World Crown-Crown and Crown-Box (?) were the WORST. The funny thing is, immediately after I beat it as my "main" (Luigi), I effortlessly beat it as the other four. I was happy AND fuming inside.

I'm a bit bitter as I just reached 99/99 A+ rank this weekend. Now I gotta try to max out S+ *sigh*. Can't wait to use the bucket and gatling gun though.
It may seem silly to gimp the release of the game initially but they had their motives. At least the patches and content are all free downloads.
Delaying pre-made teams until now kept the online child friendly throughout the summer months and first few months of release allowing it to have mass appeal, keeping things 'fair' through randomized teams.
Delaying pre-made teams and private rooms also kept the Turf War and Ranked Battle modes populated as possible as the player base was not split but two ways, while still offering a casual vs more advanced experience. They needed to have the rooms full and bustling in the first few months as this was a new IP and needed to accumulate an audience. Now that they have a pretty decent crowd of varying skill levels, they can introduce these modes and still avoid lengthy wait times in the other modes.
As an A+ rank player, when Japan was having their Splatfest and not able to play with the rest of the world, wait times increased dramatically, so hopefully these updates appeal to the more skilled Americans to bring them back or get them into the game.

Same It took me a hundred tries to beat it (I was Rosalina and my brother was Luigi). Then I effortlessly beat it with the other characters
