Well, lost my internet connection when I went to post these and my write-ups in the process. There's no way I'm writing them up again so I'm just going to represent the next set of songs with smilies. Poor write-ups.

It is a little on the out there side. It's pretty good, but takes a couple listens to sink in.

Blackheart was an amazing R&B album. It released early in the year so it's pretty overlooked but it's cohesive & serves quality.
Ego Death is also a unique R&B collection. Has more soul elements to it.
Traveller was decent throughout. One of the few country albums I enjoyed.
Surprised to see Xmas & Chill tbh. It was pretty short, but had the December -Wit It - True Love 1-2-3 punch so it's all good.
Mutant takes a couple of listens to get it, but I liked it. Arca's production isn't for everyone.
|
I like Blackheart a lot! Those early in the year releases are really easy to overlook though at the end of the year. I'll really excited for her next one.
Ego Death gets better with every listen tbh

Same with the Internet now that I say that.
I took a long time to listen to Traveler.

I kind of was reluctant to listen I guess. Glad I did and stopped being stubborn. It's one of the best country debuts in some time.
Xmas & Chill really impressed me. Agreed completely on Arca.

I think you might like Arca in all honesty.
Xmas & Chill is great.

I actually liked Mutant a lot more than I thought I would considering the lack of lyrics and I usually hate songs without lyrics because like... why? but he somehow managed to make the songs interesting enough to compensate
|
I guess I have to go ahead and make an EP list at sometime for Ari to win something
I feel the same way about lyrics.

I usually listen to those types of albums in the background while I'm doing other things, so I can get used to the music tbh. Or while I'm stuck in traffic. Either or.
I guess you could always make up your own lyrics and sing them along.
Glad you liked Arca though and it wasn't a long music video type situation.

Loved Blackheart too

Xen was pretty great. I think Mutant is a little rougher, but it's still a great listen!

Yes, I’m reading this and I’m WAY too late to the Bitch Ass party. But, I’m still commenting all of the relevant sh!t I missed aka the songs. You got Bitch Ass links! Here we go. BTW, I noticed your avi of Drake eating pizza. Now, I want some pizza. Bitch Ass Drake!
102-98: Classic Man is a much better Fancy than Fancy could even be. Classic Man is one of my favorite jams to have fun with and be a goof. Got that Classic Swag. I also enjoy the Kendrick Lamar remix. Listen to it if you haven’t yet. Dat the Game on Halloween? Damn. So clean and fresh.
97-93: Lemme listen to this The Weeknd/Ed song. Not bad. Loved the dark vibe I get from this one. Brings me back to the mysterious and dark days of the Weeknd. I discover Don’t on Beats 1 radio. Really liking this style of music. Get deep in the nighttime. Man, Wesley’s Theory is one of my top fav tracks from the album. The song just feels good and right. The funkiness of that track got me going. Agree what you said on the write-up.
92-82: I only Uptown Funk and what a song that is. Love to get down on that one. It’s one of my top favorite songs of the year.
81-76: I know a lot more songs here. This diugh….ain’t free! Yeah, that interlude tells so much in such a short time. I was on late listening to Hotline Bling despite the hit that it is. Still, an enjoyable song that I don’t mind answering the phone to. David Bowie still kicking it to this day. Man,that song takes me in a wonderful and out of this world journey. It may not Missy’s best (far from it), but it’s still a fun song to get down low and crank it up. This is how we do from where we from.
75-71: God, Worth It is such an annoyance. Being a Talk Dirty knock-off does not help, but my family loves this song esp. my mother who can’t singing this one. My ears are not worth it. Meh on Heartbeat Song.
70-66: More Drizzyness! Now & Forever is really good. Such a great Drake stan you are.
65-61: Hey, I like how Tame Impala does its Beatles referencing psychedelia-accented pop and Pink Floyd influences. The Less I Know The Better is a nice song to get lost into and forget that you know a lot more than you should. I don’t mind the new mainstream Pop Abel and I really enjoy it. This song is no exception. I’m so addicted to it and yeah, he does MJ justice. Honeymoon started out too slow and boring, but it got me good as the song progress.
60-56: Just noticed that you got the wrong set banner (still says 65-61). In fact, you made some small mistakes in the recap post of the first page, but whatever. Lemme me listen to this Game/K-Dot song since I slept on the Game and more King Kunta! Plus, I don’t like any songs except that lame ass Carly Rae Jepson song. Alright, this song on fire and go hard and laid-back at the same time mostly laid-back tho. The Westside! That’s on me. Rise Up!
55-52: I just realized the X-mas smiles! Nice they are. I wonder how long we will have them for. Want to Want Me is good.
51-47: Damn at your rock rant at 51. I’ve seen that song on YTT before. I listen to it another time. Everyday is my jam. Everyone needs a Smoke Break well except for me. It is esp. not good for me, but I can take a drink break.
46-42: Finally, latest set. Bang That American Oxygen. Can’t resist the puns you know. I heard Focus on the radio and I hate it. Ehh, pop radio lately kinda sucks. There's less good there. Kick the Dust Up! Fun and silly song. Country Party ain’t a bad thing ‘less it’s too much and it’s too Bro Country.
That took a lot of time than I wanted. Guess I love to take my time and get distract to listen to some of the music I haven’t heard yet. Great Bitch Ass Best of so far. I really enjoyed it. You have impressive write-ups. Can’t wait for you to bring more updates.

I'm glad you made it to the bitch ass party, because it's not a bitch ass party without some bitch ass flame comments
Thanks for catching up with everything flame.

I like how you lowkey called my songs here ****, but kind of deserved tbh.
Classic Man really is what Fancy wishes it could be. It's just so fancy!
I think I may have included the K-Dot remix here, just for you really and also, really, is Kendrick ever a bad thing?
Glad I got Wesley's Theory right from Kendrick

I say Uptown Funk yeah! to UF being one of your top songs of the year!
You need to pick up the phone when Drake calls now & forever! Hotline Bling is one of the best, you've been missing out!
Thank you for complimenting my Drake stanning! *I say this wearing an avi of Sam Hunt eating pizza

Let me switch back to my Hotline Bling star wars avi.
Thanks for correcting my mistakes also, I usually update this late at night or when I'm about to leave to go somewhere and am usually a little tired and/or burnt out

Sometimes I need that metaphorical smoke break you know.
I'll let the That Lame Carly Rae Jepsen song slide

Slip Slide even

because you loved the game.
Enjoyed your bitch ass comment. Thanks again. I'm looking forward to finding some bitch ass songs on yours.

|
Ari's EP was amazing! I was really impressed. Especially since I didn't love My Everything. The EP was cohesive and had that R&B flavor I like. Plus it's like 20 minutes long and breezes by. I'd say the songs won't sound too out of place after christmas, especially if you're lazy and still have gifts lying around like me
The Internet album was great! I slept on it a little too. I was so bad about listening to new things this year

Kind of deserved

That was a shot at Thomas Rhett also.
I think if you like Tennessee Whiskey, you'd like Traveler. The album is very cohesive and doesn't really stray too far from what makes TW great.

I might have to check ouut Christmas & Chill, only she or Miley would name their album title that.
Great to see Ego Death it's such a chill album.
|
Both really are great. I respect what Dawn tried to do with this one and it is an interesting album. I wish there was a Pretty Wicked Things on this one though. I agreed with you when you said it was a little pretentious though
Xmas & Chill was way better than a Christmas EP needed to be. It was solid

Miley definitely would name a project something like that

Storyteller is great (although Heartbeat >> Smoke Break)
oh look...jason derulo
Wildfire is such a great song
Confident is a good album (well better than revival at least)
American Oxygen was great at first...
Focus enough said
Blackheart is the ONLY Dawn album ive ever gotten into
|
I agree on Honeymoon. Especially Ultraviolence. That album was amazing. Anything would look bad in comparison.
Smoke Break >>> Heart Attack
Jason Derulo delivered the goods this year
And I agree American Oxygen was greaet
Have you tried Goldenheart?

That one's pretty good.

Oh, Ari's Christmas album made the list already I still haven't listened to it though.
I tried getting into Arca's album but I was already giving up after Track #5 Maybe, I should try Xen first.
|
Of course. Ari the queen of pop, making lists, etc. I actually really loved it.. Poor My Everything. You better get to listening

There's only like 363 days until christmas
I genuinely don't know if Xen would be an easier listen than Mutant. I'll say... yes... that might be better.
Although, if you're on board with the music of Bjork's Vulnicura, Arca worked on that, that would give you some kind of an idea or what Arca might be like?

It's good but kind of undescribable, isn't it?
I've heard a few Dawn Richards tracks and liked them, especially Calypso.

I don't think anyone focuses on Jamie FoXX. He apparently released an album this year. The more you know.

This is just me on an average day^ It's even worse when I'm trying to decide what I want to say about an album. Let alone Arca
It's really hard to put Arca into words. I wanted to say it's like when you play Halo and you first meet the Flood, but the Flood has passed their time listening to Britney's Get Naked I Got A Plan on repeat while waiting to meet you?
