The difference is that there is absolutely no popular support in the secular community for something like this, we're talking about a singular unhinged person rather than some kind of organized terrorist group or a widespread opinion.

The man committed an unnoficial and unauthorised act of violence. In the process of doing so, he made a point of asking the religions of those victims, in an obvious persuit of his own political aim.

It doesn't need to be encouraged by a singular atheistic belief, and drawing that comparison between whether religion does is a whole other debate; something with which I'm sure we would disagree wholeheartedly on.

As an agnostic with no desire to follow any one religion, I just think it's ridiculous to blame religion for terroristic atrocities. There's much more to it than that.

This is getting ridiculous. We literally have a new mass shooting every week, and it's not even shocking or a big deal anymore which is extremely frightening. I'm tired of these weak ass wannabe Columbine shooters attacking innocent people while the media blames it on the parents, music, video games and sometimes the victims themselves.

No its not. The main argument for eradication of religion by atheists is because its illogical and stunts our intellectual growth as a society.

Religion does make a difference to acts of violence I'm afraid, atheism has never encouraged violence.
